i hang out in the woods a lot. so i do lots of jumping.<-gets you up and down hills faster due to the z plane speed is really fast compared to the x-y planes, like how fast you drop from the sky....anyway, i'm getting sidetracked here.

so jumping down is a srs pain in the kiester due to rubberbanding. up usually works ok, but no always either.

now here is the thing i noticed. when i'm jumping, i usually have the "W" key mashed so i keep going forward through the jump to keep going along my path. somehow i started letting off the "W" key right as i was about to hit the surface, and it stuck like a straight drop from up high.

now, as time has gone on, and i'm getting the habit of that last second let-off of the "W", then mash it right back down to keep going, i have eliminated most of any rubberbanding now.

maybe everyone else knows this, but maybe not. and maybe someone else gets totally steamed at that stupid rubberbanding.

it was way worse last summer, so zero QQ here...it's managable now, and this deal seemed to really ironed it out even more.

edit: i was going to fix the typos like not pressing the t hard enough, but they are fun, so they stay..engrish by accidentally lol

When I upgraded my pc I noticed a heck of a lot of difference too. Like... I used to see a glitch on lobster/loon mounts that was unbearable to look at. I used to rubberband a lot. When I upgraded I pretty much stopped. Now all of my rubberband is due to lag, landing on npc heads, or running in old heavens tear through uneven terrain.

If you get super stuck on a spot best way I've found is to run exactly backwards and go around. Usually works for me. Only places I still have to do this is OHT> other past maps or heaven/hell. Methinks they need an update. ;3

This technique also helped immensely back when rubberbanding was much worse.

Rubberbanding has gotten much better for me now. However, as Elena said, this technique you mentioned was very helpful in the past for me. Jumping off the BH platform on a mount could mean relogging in the past if you didn't push and release the W key before landing (I had to relog numerous times before I discovered this).

are you going to bring back every thread on this issue. you need a better pc/laptop because i never rubber band any more and a lot of people i play with have noticed a great decrease in it
