ok, I always see threads about fail squads or concerning other's mistakes but c'mon we all have those fail moments, even high levels were newbies back in the days so it's time to confess!!b:laugh

Share YOUR OWN fail moment!

I'm starting. I did, and I still do, alot of silly things in game but this is the most funny (and shamefull) thing I ever done:

My main cleric in his 50, questing around the tauroc valorians and such, a random squad ask me for help to kill Gouf, by that time I already had helped a few times with that boss and everything was pretty simple so I said yes. I don't remember how the squad was composed (this happened several months ago) but we had two barbs, maybe levels 80? Ok, we start, I select the first barb that rush into Gouf and start spamming IH on him, I concentrate in the squad list to check out the health of the entire group and I see that the barbs HP goes down... I was constantly spamming a maxed (for my level) IH and still his HP down and down... I was wtf is going on???? It kept that way a while till my eyes go to the fighting scene and I see the barb I was healing yelling at me: STOP HEALING ME, HEAL THE OTHER BARB, THE OTHER BARB!!!

yup... all that time I was healing the wrong guy b:surrender

After that I felt so ashamed that I didn't login for a entire week b:laugh

On my defense I have to say that this happened before I knew you can target your mates right from the squad list

I remember this one instance...I was probably lvl 7x. Was in a squad with another cleric, we were doing bh59. We got to drake, and instead of pulling him the usual distance we had to pull him further because of something. I got aggravated so I decided to be an ***. She bb'd for drake, I started dd-ing. The sin gets up in my face about how she wants me to heal/purify instead of dd-ing, and her words were (what I recall), "You're not high enough to dd so just get healing." I ignored her, continued dd-ing...archer died (she got the kill btw) from drake's dot...sin and I got into a ****-out. Needless to say I got kicked.

In hindsight, I should've purified, but sin got icky at me so I got icky back.

My fails huh? I like these threads too. Always did find them to be humurous.

Ok. I have had fails innumerable.

*Getting killed by Sonic Oppressor, because I chose to fight it when a large group of people were attacking it. (I died, but it was still worth it. I revived, and kept fighting it too. Lol. My damage was minimal compared to everyone else's, but I still had a good time.)

*Getting killed by Dragon of the Depths when I was killing Bloodthirsty sharks. That boss, and ALL of its adds were right behind me as I swam to pick up a drop from a shark I just killed. Charm ticked, and then the "You have died" screen greeted me.

*Not knowing that one of my quests was timed. Realizing it, and thinking that I have an hour and 4 minutes left, so I tried to fly there. (Really, I had a minute and four seconds left, so the quest failed en route. Lol.)

*Almost Flying into Dipter.

*Trying to Solo Chin as a level 40's I believe. Yeah. I lost that fight.

*Going AFK, coming back and finding my charm ticked completely out, and my character dead. (This was the jumping quest charm btw.)

*Doing the same thing on my barb alt. (Both times, I was in what I perceived to be a safe area. Guess it really wasn't).

*Nearly dying to Jumong as a level 60's cleric.

*Accidentally landing on Gouf's head after I beat him, and was promptly one shotted. (I still had the quest in my inventory, and went to help someone else before turning it in. I thought that I clicked on the waypoint to the quest awarder. Really, I clicked on Gouf.)

*Getting shot in the back by Khewey and his henchmen as I was hunting the pyrogolth mobs. (I knew that he patrolled the area, and saw him walk past, so I thought it was safe. Turns out, he walks REALLY REALLY FAST.

*Getting 2 shotting by Krixxix, when I was after Farng. A dead cleric asked me to revive him. In the middle of revive, Krixxix saw me, and shot his ice blast at me....effectively killing me. Then killed the other cleric that I had just revived.

*Getting d/c'ed while tanking Quinzgi on my cleric, and causing a squad wipe.

*Getting d/c'ed, or really bad lag in world areas, and causing squad wipes.

*Repeatedly trying to tame a level 8 turtle on my veno alt when it was a level 7...then wondering why it wasn't working. Lol.

*Not knowing that Rankar can interrupt BB, and getting knocked out of it, and wondering WTF????

*Having Rankar come behind me, and one shot me since the tank didn't know about the walkers that Rankar has, then have them appear behind me. I run to the other side of the tank. Turned out Rankar was coming from the other side as well.

*Repeatedly clicking the "Revive Scroll" option, and wondering why it wasn't working. (Not knowing that it had a cooldown).

*Clicking revive scroll, in stead of release corpse by mistake...when I was right next to the town. (Did this yesterday again too. Lol.)

*Getting One shotted by Rankar while in BB.

*Getting One shotted by Wyvern while in BB. (Neither of the 2 have ever one shotted me, except for that day.)

*Picking up the drops from Ofo, after the high level tank, and second high level cleric had helped me for Bh. They gave me the drops, and left squad. I go to retrieve my drops from the spot that the tank had just been, and where Ofo had died at. The mobs never aggroed the tank. However once it was me left, they aggroed me, sealed me, ganged up on me, and sliced me to bits. Wanting the drops still, I waited till they moved, and used a ressurect option I had from a mystic buff. I then picked up some of the drops, only to have it happen to me again. I holy pathed away, and kept holy pathing...and the mobs still caught up...sealed me...and sliced me to bits again.

*Tried to solo Silver Frost yesterday. He 3 hitted me with plume shell on.

*Got help from a level 99 veno to help me with Frost. Was wondering where he was. Didn't realize that she had pulled him into the hall. She called me to come to her. I said "sure", and went the wrong way. She told me so, I noticed her health depleting, holy pathed over towards her, and had just enough time to cast IH, plus two SOR's to save her. I would have felt really bad if she had of died.

*Getting heal aggro, and dying. (Who hasn't. Lol.)

*Dropping BB after one of the bosses in fb79, not realizing that another boss is right next to it. The tank says get BB again as soon as you can. So I Ih in the meantime. I get enough Chi, and then BB. As soon as I do, the boss dies. We had a good laugh off of that. Lol.

*Healing myself instead of the intended target.

*Healing someone else instead of the intended target.

*Healing someone else instead of myself.

*Dying at the hands in TT, knowing its a one shot kill.

*Dying again on hands, because I didn't know the explosion at the green ring was an AOE.

*Being worried about aggroing Kun Kun, so taking steps to avoid his nonexistant aggro.

*Repeatedly trying to implement a strategy to kill the turtle by plume.

*Being chased out of fb19 by the first mobs as a level 34 cleric.

*The Sable Mongoose mission. (Enough said. I hate that mission to this day, and take the time now to tempest the mongooses for the torture that they dealt to my cleric every time that I see them.)

*Having the match end in a draw between me, and the elder turtle by Arch. We both were down to having one hit left to kill the other, so I retreated, let it reset...and then a higher level cleric came down and tempested it for me. I was in my 30's-40's then.

*Wondering WTH are my level 79 skills, flying in the middle of Arch, trying to get a GM to please pm me. Lol.

*Not being able to find some of the items in Secret Passage, and Delirium. The items were right in front of me, meaning that I passed them dozens of times, and didn't know it.

*Accepting a challenge by a sin in a duel. (Being stunlocked the entire time isn't a fun duel.
That's the last time that I duel either a sin, or a bm until I carry some anti immobilize powder. The sin kept me under stun, the slash slash, stun, slash, stun, slash, slash, slash...Defeat. Wasn't fun, and a waste of a charm tick. The sin challenged me 9 more times after that. Wouldn't take no for an answer, and hoped that if he annoyed me enough, he'd get another match. I thought about retrying, then noticed that everytime that I would move away to get some distance...since I am a ranged combatant, he would immediately close, hoping for a close range fight. He never got it.

*An epic battle, and immenent squad wipe against Pole. Turns out that no-one in the squad needed him.

*Flying in the wrong direction. Lol.

*Getting killed near Tellus in the area where the Quiggles the bandit spawns. I was turning in a quest. Turns out that someone else was too, and the quest they turned in spawned a gang of bandits...which abruptly killed me.

*Thinking that ironheart was the worst skill ever, and that blessings of the purehearted was vvery useful when I first started the game.

*Being a dual sword wielding cleric, and then wondering why my magic didn't work. (I was new then.)

*Having Tideborn, and Earthguard alts that are ALL lost. I still can't get out of those places without flying. Lol.

*Statting points into dex on my cleric. (Since fixed...Didn't know about the different builds).

*Accidentally aggroing a level 80's boss as a level 40's-50's cleric. (I got away with my life though. Lol.)

*Having a piece of my old TT70 on, instead of my TT80, and wondering why something was off.

*Forgetting to reequip my weapon in instances. (Thankfully, no one else noticed.)

*Having pieces of armor come equipped, and not realize it. (I still don't know how that happened. 0_o)

*Leveling Blessings of the Purehearted to level 4. (I didn't realize its ineffectiveness at the time. I left ironheart unleveled for a bit, till I read in the forums how to properly use it.)

*Probably many more. I may post again if they come to me.

you made me remember some other things (damn uuuuuu!!! b:chuckle):

Trying to solo my own fb19 when I was level 26 because "c'mon I am 7 levels higher!!!" lol you can imagine how that went

I succesfully soloed it when I was level 46 (alot of time and pots but I did it) and I went back a couple of levels ago (57-58) to get some nice 3 star weap for my wizzie, when I reach the last corridor, before the boss chamber, I felt cocky and faced the gang of mobs without healing myself because "I can kill them before they kill me"... I never make it to the boss b:surrender (that was not silly just plain stoopid)

I tried to solo Dragon of the depths, first time (after I killed all the minions) I got killed in one-shot by it's physical attack (the damn thing started ranged with magic and suddenly came near me and... "you where killed by..."), not satisfied I tried (3 times o.0) to lure it to the surface so I can kill it from above water avoiding his phys range... I can tell you it's not a good idea considering the cleric's swimming speed b:laugh

*TRUE FAIL HERE. Lol.

*Not actually tabbing my fb19 until I was a level 79 cleric. When I first went in there, and was told to tab, I thought that the tabbing location was the NPC that looks like a tree, and that states that you have to be a squad leader within a specific level range in order for something to happen. I met those requirements, and spoke to the tree NPC. He refused to oblige me so I told my squad that I couldn't tab it. We ran it anyways, quite a few times. It wasn't until level 79 that I realized that I still had the tab in my inventory. I went straight to fb19, soloed it, squaded with a friend who was out of the instance at the time so that I could tab it,...and then at long last...and long overdue... My level 79 cleric...FINALLY tabbed the fb19. Lol.

We're TWINS xD I've always thought I was so silly to do it but now I know I got a partner maybe one day we can one shot those nasty mobs togheter..... Not even 5 IH stacks could save my poor 17 cleric from those mobs b:shocked so I went to plume and did the flying quest to get the charm I always skip it :P

i was a noob at level 5x. light armor with 57 dex (with no add ons from gear) for pk. i dont even pk in the first place but i was on a pk server so i thought it'd be good, i still got one shotted by any pker anyway. my entire gear (including weap) came from quest rewards, so of course i was using gear 10 levels or more below my actual level. i thought any gear with glowing colors meant that it was super special and i'd have to be at least level 80 or 85 and be incredibly rich to get that stuff. and i tried to solo everything i came across, even the bosses for quests, with the exception of bosses in dungeons, before i learned how to ask for help. but i did manage to solo nightspike bloodguard/mantavip scout at 80 (btw is that a good or bad thing i still dont know).

luckily i met some great people who showed me how to be a proper cleric lol. and a reset note for that unfortunately high dex helped too.

oh and i used to get lost everywhere..especially in dungeons. i never went into them without a friend to follow. if i got separated from the friend then i was like a lost puppy wandering up and down the map looking for the person to follow lol. i still sometimes go the wrong way from that huge circle platform in the middle of arch, but thats been fixed by auto routing everywhere

Once I helped a few faction mates with a TT 1-2. At the first boss I notice that the barbs hp keeps falling (he was around lvl 75 with decent gear for his lvl) and I was wondering why is it so hard for him to tank it. After the boss is dead I realize that it wasn't the barb's fault... I forgot to equip my weapon after taking it off to kick those invisible mobs at the beginning for chi XD

Another fail moment was on my very first TT run when I was around lvl 60. It was a 2-1. Everything goes well, till I see a green circle. I had no idea that a mob will pop inside it and one-shot me o.o Luckily, the friend who brought me was a cleric XD

Thought that I could somehow use Revive on myself too...until I learnt it XD

In TT 3-2. When we get to Emperor:
Sin: ready?
Me: yep
Sin: *runs to Emperor and aggroes him*
Me: *disconnects*

Lol. Agreed. Those things deserve every tempest they get. The more the merrier. Lol. They were actually the ones that took out my cleric's charm from that quest. I chose to meditate on the side of the cliff...where no mob spawns or walks...then went AFK. I come back to find out that they took the time to walk down the side of the cliff to kill my cleric, and tick the charm entirely. b:shockedb:cryb:angry

After I finally finished that mission, I was so irritated that I flew my cleric down to the tideborn area for a better life. The mobs were much easier for me there. Lol. Grinding on walkers, and the other mobs (which I don't remember) was a cakewalk to that mission. I only flew my cleric back, and kept my cleric back due to cult. Then I got to go to Arch. In that vicinity, I met the werewolf spearmen. Landed...and was ABRUPTLY TWO SHOTTED. Hunters were a pain too, but the spearmen were worse for me for some reason. I tempest them sometimes too. Lol.b:laugh

Mekkhala - Lost City

oh lets see...

1) having my mouse run out of batteries while healing for NV....and not having the main heals on hotkey bar when it happened....

2) forgetting to reequip my weapon after smacking an npc for chi...and realizing, to my horror, that my squad was betting how long it took me to notice.

3) When I was on archer I tried to help a cleric by using alacrity in TT. The poor ep was catapulted into a hand.

4) On archer I was asked to help at a lowbie Pirate Quest. I forgot to turn pk procs on, barraged, and killed everybody in the area by accident.

5) Putting mag points on my archer because I thought it would make his thunder spells more powerful (ok I was NEW when I did that lol)

6) Learning 11 sage thunderball. Dunno wtf I was thinking. b:surrender
