A few hours ago, a constant companion of mine whilst playing PWI passed away. b:cry He spent many hours competing with PWI for my attention. Sometimes he won, sometimes he did not. He, however, was a sweet companion to have for the decade or so he was around. I will miss him greatly.

The past number of months, he's been suffering from arthritis in his hind legs. We've been doing what we can to make his pain as bearable as possible without leaving him in a drugged state constantly. (What's the point of living if you can't actually LIVE?) So, at least he won't be suffering any longer, but there certainly will be a void in our lives.

Playing will certainly feel a bit different from now on. b:cry

So far his companion bunny is dealing well with the loss. Hopefully she'll continue to be a companion for my girlfriend as she plays PWI (and does other things, of course) for many more years. b:victory

Here is a picture of him as a younger bunny, for others to adore him. :)

(Yes, he was a house bunny.)

You will be missed, Martini. b:cry And hopefully your passing will remind others to appreciate their loved ones while they are still around, whether they are furry or not. We're all real people on the other side of the pixels and should remember to pay attention to our loved ones on the same side of the pixels as ourselves.

I remember when my eel, Spaz, passed away. I've had him for over a year, until he outgrew the aquarium. Here's a picture of what Spaz looked like:

Well, this is what he "sort of" looked like. I don't have a real picture, as it never crossed my mind to take photos of him.

And no, I am not trolling, I just miss Spaz. I hope Martini and Spaz meet eachother in pet heaven and play together.

I'm very sorry for you loss :( Pets aren't just pets, they're family members.
I also lost a pet, though it's been a couple of years now. It's hard to deal with such a loss :/

We just got home from the vet. Martini will be cremated and we will have his ashes in a week or two. He will sit near me in his little box while I am at my computer for a long time, I hope. b:pleased

Thank you all for your kind words. I needed somewhere to grieve, and there aren't many options at that hour. Considering how he was part of my playing experience, it felt appropriate to post my grieving on the PWI forum. Thank you all for your understanding and not trolling my thread. As I said, it's actual people on the other end. Thank you for proving it. b:victory

I'm sorry for your loss, Fintan. I've had a few pets over the past few years: a bird (Peter), a guinea pig (Chomper...he bit quite a few fingers >.<), another bird (Mysti), and a family dog (Windy). I actually held the first bird for a while the night before he died, because he was sick and we knew he wasn't going to make it much longer. The guinea pig actually died while I was away at school, and the second bird got caught by the family dog (oh, the irony -.-). The family dog ended up being put down because she had terrible arthritis in her back legs, and that happened while I was away as well. All of them are buried in my grandparents' backyard, so I visit them whenever I go back to visit my grandparents.

I am glad you're going to be able to keep a memory of Martini with you always, and hope your other bunny stays well.

Thanks for sharing your story! b:thanks

When a pet dies, you always feel guilty of not spending time with it more. :c

Or not scolding them so much. My jack russel terrier died New Year's Eve 2 years ago and the last thing I was doing to her was scolding her rather harshly for doing her business in the house. She'd been house trained, but we think she had been getting sick in some way because she had been doing stuff like that for almost a year.
