I'm still deciding whether or not I want to keep playing my BM. Is it true that BMs eventually MUST use all 4 weapon types in order to achieve their potential?

No, swords are useless and you can do w/o spear if you must.

The question you asked is answered Here.
Can i be a good bm as pure sword/axe/pole/fist/bow/pataka
Any single weapon build will suck compared to multipath (with rare exeptions like vit axe in TW) if you are considering this accept that no squads will want you ever. Its a game though so do w/e you like

Axe and Fists should be the minimum, especially for PvE. A variation is nice but not necessarily ALL 4.

All you need is Axes, Fist, or poleblade pike all that stuff. Just make sure you have axes for heavens flame. Also you might be told to get a poleblade for glacial spike for Nirvana.

So swords are really out of the question? Wasn't there a good sword/blade guide on this forum awhile ago? Or is that just not viable anymore...

    Technically, for full potential, yes.

But you don't lose alot by not having a sword. I use MSS for sticky situations where I need crowd control (bb dropping in Delta/Metal). I also use a sword knockback when my spear knockback in on cooldown. Between those two skills it means I have my sword out less than 1% of the time.

Spear I use for Farstrike, which has great range and hits really hard when demon. I use GS to combo with HF or if HF is on cooldown. And I use the knockback for crowd control or pushing mobs into a nice zhen area in Delta. That's about 1-2% of the time I may have my spear out.

Everything else is Fist (90%) and Axe (8%). So to be honest, to get full advantage of a BM you need all weapons. To get 98% advantage you need 2/4, to get 99% you need 3/4. And remember, your weapons don't need to be a high level/refines if just using them for the skills abilities, like level 1 axes for HFing.
Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory

The 1% I tend to hit MSS in seems to stop squad wipes. Such a wonderfull pve skill.

why not use them all for full potential of BM? I see no problem in this. yea it's hard, you need lot of spirit, but for game you need just 2 wep. skills and at endgame just get other 2. if thats really big problem then dont play bm b:bye

Indeed MSS (sword) is highly useful for bosses like emp or legion marshal if the tank is getting beat on too much -- also works as a backup stun for demon. Demon GS (pole) is kick *** for a DD squad to stack with other debuffs.

You get so much spirit anyways might as well learn those two. Don't need an epic sword or pike to use those skills.

Thank you all for your responses and insight. I wish the weapon paths were more balanced in-game (seeing as my two favorite weapons, poles and swords, pale in comparison to axes and fists).

Just created a Seeker. Thanks again!
