Phys. Resist vs HP

I'm still pretty new to the game. Is +69 phys. res. better than +40 HP? If someone would provide a brief explanation, that'd be very much appreciated as well.

    Take your max hp and the hp added by any change, find the % gained. compare that to the % boost unbuffed and buffed of any phys ef add in pw calc if the def adds more total % survival i would go that route for pve.
    Gifs are hard to make work here

    How would you calculate % survival?

    Looking back, HP seems to be the better choice because it can account for both physical and magic mobs.

    hp added/current hp vs def % added/(100-current phys or mag reduction)

    And yes HP is the old standby if your under 8k

    Alright, thanks a lot bro. I'm running a minimal Vit build, so HP bonuses for me.
