Unable to start up the client

I tried to open PWI earlier and after clicking start, a pop up box appeared with strange characters (not any language, just a jumble of random stuff) and it seems I can't open the game. How should I fix this, preferably without trying to reinstall the whole game o.o

    1. Search function FTW, you'll find like 50 threads a week stating exactly that problem and a couple of fixes that resolve it 95% of the time.

    2. If you've failed at that...... At least have the decency to post some kind of system specs, a screenshot of the error, and OS/driver information.

    3. Just throwing this out there..... Run a DxDiag I bet your Direct3D Accelleration isn't working. Update your video drivers. Do a CLEAN INSTALL. (I know instructions have been posted at least a few times this week for that. Possibly even by me once.)

    4. If you can't use common sense, a search engine, or are totally computer illiterate, uninstall, stop playing on the dang thing and take some classes.

    P.S. Did I mention..... Search function FTW? Hell with this you don't even need to search, just scan the first couple of pages of tech support and click on a thread with a similar description.
