I want people's opinion on this..
To be honest right now pwi economy sucks.. really everything is so expensive. And what I noticed, may contribute to this chaotic economy, is that there is hardly any new players..
Where is all the level 1-70!!! jesus... Low level places is empty as hell*actually maybe hell is more pack wiht souls"! there USED to be pack with low level contributing to the economy but now mats price sky rocket and no one there to farm them...
so is pwi dead? only remaining of those high levels? b:surrender

its not dead but its dying, and pwe is basically sucking all the money it can. Look in the cash shop right now theres like 8 different packs. Between constant sales, (reps, packs, ect) and lack of real content its clear.
$$$$ from Rank 8/9 and packs is the blood that pwe is sucking out of this game0 -

There has yet to be a real content update, only pointless small things that have done nothing to help the game in terms of things to do.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
"Kantorek: we hope to see the economy in PWI come back "down to earth" if you will."
*One week later*
"Frankieraye: Lucky Corals and Platinum Charms are going to be in the Boutique indefinitely."
*few months later, PWI puts rank8/9 into the CS insanely cheap, raising gold 1mill+*0 -

Same old forum topic for the last 2 years that PWI is dead and/or dying.
People have literally been saying it has been dying for 2 years. Clearly it has not diedt. Pessimistic forum dwellers will say otherwise, but if it was dead, it'd be shut down. Long as it makes enough to turn a profit, it'll be here.
If you enjoy it, keep playing. If not, move along.0 -

^^ In addition; new servers are still coming out. -Something PWI wouldn't be investing in if the game were dead or even dying. Income potential for even the low levels and the much lower cost of equips on old servers has more than compensated for any so called economy issues.
If the game was dead, we wouldn't have all these pissed off players on the forums. PWI pisses off it's customers; it doesn't mean the game is dead. -Their consumer relations is dead.0 -
Like I say in everyone of these "the game is dead" post, every game has these typical defeatist post. Some have had post like these pop up weekely on their forums for 10 + years, but they still pump out content, and recieve money to this day.re0

True, prices are higher because of the coins being constantly pumped in via Perfect Tokens of Best Luck.
But of course, that works two ways. As you pointed about mat prices, if you're a farmer, prices are higher on what you're selling. Same goes for merchants - our net income has matched inflation.
Meanwhile, as prices inflate on many things, prices remain stable on Token related items. So all of those items become more affordable.
The only people who are hurt by this situation are the grinders. Their income has been shrinking for years.
Personally, I think that this is a bad thing, because even though grinding is the fool's way to generate income in the game, it really shouldn't be. Grinding might not be a smart way to play, but it's the obvious way to play, so if the average player sits down and plays they're not going to stop and think, "Hey, maybe I should change my approach to the game," they're just going to think, "Oh em gee! Game iz dedz! Economeez iz borken!"
However, PWI continues to be doing very well, so perhaps they know better than me.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

As long as the companies Profit >= Costs, they will keep the servers running.
Though getting random BH or FC squads is getting harder and harder. If anything, the player base is killing game play as much, if not more than PWI. People would rather Power-level nab characters on FC Heads, than do BHs, or actually do FC at level ._.0 -
Yup pwi is dead. All the pessimist should just leave now...
are they gone yet?0 -
I don't know about it fully being dead, but it is definitely dying.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Agreed...
Grinding should be more worth it because it involves people playing the game. A game where people play and interact a lot feels more alive. A lot of times I place myself in catshop and talk to other people in catshop...PWI has become a graphically intensive chat client. That's what "game is dead" would mean to me.
You see all the richly-geared people bragging about how they can farm 2m per hour minimum? That's real funny because that's just a bit more than 1 gold.
Back when gold was cheaper my archer could grind that too...at lvl 80. Game has become harder and harder for people who play in the sense that they have to level up and gear up more to get what they had before. The average player should be able to sit down and play and not feel hopeless.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

I would say it's dead to any new non cash shop players. Will the servers shut down? No not for a long while most likely, but new players will probably only be cash shoppers rather then a mixture of both cs and non cs like in the past. I have no proof of anything, but when i was around at the start i felt there were a lot more grinders then cs'ers. Now i feel there are way more cs'ers then not if they start up. Let's face it you basically have to if you want to get to be high and strong enough to participate it what most the community does in a reasonable time. New players will be noobs to everyone since they will learn the char at 100 rather then 1-100. Game dynamic has absolutely changed.
And yes i know you can play for free and work hard for stuff, but when everyone is 80 and you are 40 and there are tons of others like you, it's not so bad, plenty to do and plenty to do it with. When all are 105 endgame and you are spending months and months as the only one in your lvl/gear range, it certainly is not much fun0 -

I so agree with you!! The in game economy is rediculas!! I didn't start doing FCs until I was lvl 83 and now I am seeing level 40s and 50s doing them. Seriously?? FC was not made for lowbies. I can't even afford a plat HP charm right now, because you can't even find them and if you do, they are up to 6mil! I blame this on the R9 gear and the tight packs that hardly ever drop event items anymore!! The GMs need to fix this problem, otherwiase they are going to lose players. I hate to see this happen, because I really love this game and play it all the time. I'm devoted! Please read my thread - In all fairness -
I really hope the packs in the botique will become looser with their drops, because if they don't we're doomed. b:surrender0 -

I see what you're saying happing a lot, and I think it's sad! Sure I cash shop but I think all these people doing everything so fast is ruining the principal of the game. It took me almost a year to get to level 93 and I am very proud of what I have accomplished. Sure I have spent some actual money here and there but come on! To work so hard to get to lvl 93 and have what I have now...All nice gear and weaps, and then to see some noob at lv 100 with better stuff than me in 2 days is unfair. Been working almost 1 year on my char and had to learn a lot about this game. Will repeat, I did not start FCing til lv 83. LOL!! They need to ban ppl from selling FC heads to lowbies!!!!!!

So what is the smart way to make money here??
Can you PM me.... thnx.0 -
So I've been a non-cash shopper since I started playing the game and I still plan on not spending a dime on this game. I play at my own pace, which is ok because I'm on a PvE server. I understand why people would want to cash shop to 100+ and get R9 on a PvP server, but not on a PvE. I bought most of my mounts and such a long time ago, so they were technically "cheap" compared to the economy now. I bought everything I got from grinding, quest rewards, and zhen parties. I can't really do that now, and no one wants to.
You don't see low levels and new players in the starter cities, cause they all rush to FC to get to 100 in a month. When everyone first started doing this, I didn't really care, but now it has gotten a bit out of hand. I continue to play like i used to the best way I can. I plan on getting TT99 and I'm not touching R8 or R9 for any of my characters. I just prefer it that way over the other option and getting R9 only to fit in and keep up with every new noob on the server.
So you can play the way I play, but there will be a few jack***es saying they are better than you just cause they cash shop. I don't worry about it though, cause I've been here longer and I know how to play the game, while they can't figure out how to play their own class.[SIGPIC]http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/kitsunekatie/guild stuff/allcharsig1-1.jpg [/SIGPIC]
Jealous?~❤~0 -
Most of you get what I'm saying and nice way to point out that there is no need to spend real money on a free mmo (no offence pwi and I'm not whinning LMAO). But really you guys talk about BH and FC... wth are thoses lol haven't play in few years and you can get to lvl 100 in a month??!?!wow shortcuts much...if you can do that why bother with all the different mobs in the world...if FC is a dungeon thing.
Again I do not care about the company's or game's profitability *, I mean't we need new players*. Seriously, grinding in low level areas by yourself or one or two people is no fun trust me. Im STARVING to make some random friends but you know what they say when I ask do you have a main? "Yes, its level 100" no suprise there. But yeah..
just posting because I'm bored of grinding..b:laugh
PS: Anyone on Sanct know whos the leader of regicide is?0 -
Yes it's dying.
But the real question here is,
WHO IS KILLING IT?
The players or the company? You know the answer.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It's attitudes like yours that are bringing this game down!! Guess what??? People are getting tired of cheaters who level in one weak! It's lame and unfair and it needs to be put to a halt!! I don't care if you guys disagree either!! BRING ON THE TAR AND FEATHERS!!!
Pleanty of players are thinking along the same lines as I am. b:angry
NOTHING BUT GREED IN THIS GAME NOW DAYS AND IT'S BRINGING OUT THE UGLY SIDE OF PEOPLE. b:shocked0 -

It's the company that's allowing these high level players to sell FC Heads to level 20-30 etc etc!! When I was a level 30 I was lucky to have 300k. LOL!! It's so redicuals.0 -
Games this day more and more open to casual player. Which mean faster level up and easier way to earn most things needed.
There other games where as i can remember more or less equal to vanilla pw time to reach lv 50. Now it's only 1 hour to 50 on that game. b:surrender
There another where character didn't have actual level but class level. Since there lots class level, you need to level up more than 700 times to max them all. Now it's just 5 click and you master one class b:shutup
Now i remember time spent grinding solo aoe in phoenix tower... just to reach lv 40.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The game's activity hasn't declined since the day people started saying about 2 years ago that the game is dead, at least I didn't notice any decrease in the average amount of people hanging around.
The only thing here that is dead is the old PWI as some of us knew it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Game is dead, like religion, is figurative and symbolic rather than literal. It can't be literal because then it would be a flat out lie. Of course, it seems like all the pastor's preaching it have gone home for the week, or maybe escaped with the little boy followers from sunday school. b:cute
For those who weren't just trying to be in a cool kid crowd, the serious nature of game is dead was supposed to be to point out that the game as they knew it was dead (figuratively) and now it's something else. Of course, PWI has towed pretty much the same line since late summer 2009.0 -
After reading other ppl's posts. I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID EARLIER.
PW IS NOT DYING. tee hee. b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I like how Juliaasmith and Kitkate thinks...Mostly Juliaasmith because I think* she **** off at how hard working(grinding) she is and actually play the game to the fullest, while some high level's alts (not new players) just blaze through her level and has better gear or whatever. b:laugh. But then again I'm not saying people shouldn't do that ...they can do whatever they want when they want. But yeah...currently I have this feeling that this FC? (what does fc stand for?) thing is causing some disturbence in the fun factor a little bit.. for new players ofcourse.
EDIT: However, I agree both side of opinion lol..because I guess the high levels or cs people can do whatever they like since its their money *no *****. But I wonder can guild members still help low level member to do their call to duty as such... have some fun activities in guild I reckon a guild full of level 100 + or - is kind of ..meh.. so what.
Here's a question to pwi mods or people in general.. is there even a piece of terrirtory left unconquered just so new players can experience the thrill of killing that gaint **** and claim the land?0 -
Any MMO is bound to die when there's nothing but time based things as content. If running BHs were more rewarding than just 3x a day, that would make this inevitable death approach much much slower.
That and if quest rewards 80+ were increased astronomically to make doing them more worth it as an alternative to FCC. Cause everyone runs it, but not everyone likes it.Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee^^0 -
It's dying so much that they expanded to Europe and opened two more servers, and the parent company was able to require new games that reviewers were excited about at E3. Oh...wait....guess it's not. b:surrender I'll admit certain things PWI does irritates me, but I don't the game is dying just because I don't enjoy it as much as I used to do. b:surrender Do anything over and over for a couple of years without any change and it starts to become routine and boring. Not because that thing in and of itself is terrible, but because it's become routine. If I get in a rut in the game, I try to go do something else rather or not it's profitable just for fun. I think the game needs to revitalize itself so that it doesn't eventually die, but I also don't think they are dying/dead quite yet either.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
