genie 10% exp while leveling

So i tought my equipped genie would gain 10% of the exp i get for killing monsters.
but i am lvl 9 now and my genie still has 0 exp.

Can someone explain this?

    What's it's trade state? If it's in "trade ready state" then the only way it can be levelled is through the use of exp cubes.

    Sounds like ur genie is broken, just twist the head off like a pop bottle, drink the fluids from the body, then toss to the ground and stomp on the lifeless corpse and say, "Man, that was refreshing!"
