    as far as i know, the elemental stones (like fire, earth etc) work on melee fighting. meaning, in pvp, if a sin has fire dmg on his dags, and hes fighting a barb or bm, then some fire dmg can do some extra on them since their magic defense is low.

    i dont think it would really matter even if your own element is wood (barbs) or metal (archers), the type of elemental dmg will still deal dmg. but im not even sure if the barbs wood skill would increase dmg from wood stones on your weapon, though, if it did then in that case, if he wanted element, then yea, wood would have been the best xD

    or maybe the barb didnt want wood, so when he was fighting a wood mob, the metal element dmg would make him stronger vs those (as the wood elemental would be weaker)... or maybe hes a poor soul that just put w/e he could find, lol.

    i wish these elemental stones worked for skills too (like magical classes) ><

    I swear you get a lil more mag dmg when you fight things when you shard with magic shards... but if you don't then, lol. Even then, if you did get any mag dmg from them, I wouldn't do it on my R9 +10 wep. js...

    i facepalm at the DoT, I have also seen a person on my server with full R9..and all of it is like +1- +2 and unsharded

    i've seen a few people on HL with R8 that only have +2 ish refines. I understand if it's like... you just bought R8-R9 and don't have the funds to fully refine/shard it, but come on... 3 weeks later you should have SOMETHING.

    Oh I also saw this one assassin with R8+2ish and g7 citrines...

    If i had the funds to buy rank 9, I would play with those gems, the elemental gems are cheap so you aren't losing out on much in all honesty.

    It would be fun to experiment with damage outputs. b:laugh

    I have full R9 with flawless shards sharded, what's your point? They're temporary shards of course but for the moment I'm purely sharded with flawless. I still have 9.3k hp unbuffed with 3 vit though. Also when I first got my r9 it was all +3 until the d.orb sale. Ijs just because you have r9 doesn't mean you're so rich as to get all your refines and shards in 1 go. It's something you work up to. And even if you -are- filthy rich, it doesn't mean you have to be stupid with your money. b:surrender

    As for this thread, I've seen this other full r9 cleric sharded with Turqoise Gems. Can't ever beat that. b:chuckle

    I can kind of see a point to putting an elemental shard in a sin or bm weapon so you can easily stun someone who's been expelled. It's pointless on a barb though since they have poison fang.
