Demon falling petals

So.... my mystic is 86 now and soon it's gonna be time for me to pick whether sage or demon. Did my research on ecatomb and forums ehre but one skill just confuses me... demon falling petals.

It says effect duration extended by 4 seconds. Does that mean it heals the same healing amount over 5 minutes total? Or does it mean it stays on for 5 minutes ready to activate if you're getting hit?

And someone said it's up to 5 minutes ... so even more confused.

Can someone shed some light into this skill? x__x It's pretty much the only doubt I have atm in my choice lol

    this has been discussed a lot, i guess we have all (or, those who have tested it) came to a conclusion that the effect CAN last up to 5 minutes, but its a chance of whether it stays from between a few seconds to 5 minutes. but i dont have the demon version myself to give you a definite answer on that.

    I'd rather have that stay on for 1 minute safe than some seconds or 5 minutes x_x
    Guess that eliminates my last doubt in going sage xD

    LOL, what you mean 1 minute "safe"? demon buff last 5 min and sage 1 min. The buff works the same way for both, which means as soon you get hit the buff starts to heal you

    Oh Jesus.... Demon buff LAST 5 minutes if you dont get hit. there is no CHANCES involve, it will last 5 min.

    It means stays on you for 5 mins ready to activate, Sage stays 1 min ready. Both will wear off on hits...

    Wrong.

    Both stay "UP to [insert effect duration here]". That's their description and, surprisingly, that's how they work. It's not that sage stays for 1 minute or demon stays for 5 mins fixed.

    According to my testings though, nor demon or sage last LESS than 30 seconds. Demon just has an extended duration but it's NOT fixed 5 minutes.

    Either way, demon petals > sage petals. I had to get my sage petals only for the extra HP recovery. The mana recovery add is just for the lose lol.

    For more info you can just check my guide on Sage/Demon, it's been updated and getting slightly less biased to sage everytime, because no one can deny demon's best perks.

    I've never seen my sage falling petals last less than 1 minute. I'm pretty sure it's just a crappy translation. I HIGHLY doubt PWI would take the extra effort to code something like a variable buff time into a skill. Too much extra effort.

    Maybe you got hit by a mob and didn't notice so it seemed to last shorter?

    he actually has a point mentioning PW's way of doing things, however the fish buffs have a lot of variables in them, so we can't hurry to conclude anything.

    Well I dont know your buff, but mine stays for 5 min IF I'm not getting hit by mobs or players. Meaning if I'm in SZ and buff myself with petals, the buff icon will stay for 5 min. Sage will stay 1 min. The amount of healing is the same for both AFTER being hit.
