in the description the duration of the effect of the said skills were up to 6.0 seconds and 12 seconds.

but when i used it. the duration is so short. My friend said that the duration of that skills were not constant.

my question is, how can i increase the duration of that skills?. by increasing the level of that skill the duration in the description is also increased but in the actual use of the skill its so damn short..

Im planning to use that in the pvp or duel to stop my enemy but with that kind of short duration i don't think that will help me...

thanks in advance for your help.

Once you reach certain levels you can upgrade the skills.

This are the lv10 skills descriptions:

    - Silent Seal lv10 Skill at lv 75: Manipulate your energy to form the Seal of Silence. Suffer
a 6.0 second attack damage by reduction of 50% to paralyze an enemy for up to 16.8 seconds.

    - Chromatic Seal, lv10 skill at lv85: Manipulate your inner-energy to form the Seal of Colors. Suffer a 14 second reduction in speed of 40% to put the enemy to sleep for up to 33.6 seconds.

This skill in Demon version does not reduction speed on the caster.

This web may can help you if you have more questions: http://www.ecatomb.net/pwi/

To answer your question, yes you increase the maximum time one can be incapacitated. However, the time is always variable. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

I'd just like to add that the Sage versions of both skills (Silent and Chromatic) add a specific number of seconds to their durations. :)

As shown on http://www.ecatomb.net/pwi/skillpwi.php (with Cleric tab selected):

Lv10 Silent Seal: Up to 16.8 seconds
Sage Silent Seal: Up to 17 seconds + 2
Demon Silent Seal: Up to 17 seconds (with no attack reduction on caster)

Lv10 Chromatic Seal: Up to 33.6 seconds
Sage Chromatic Seal: Up to 34 seconds + 4
Demon Chromatic Seal: Up to 34 seconds (with no speed reduction on caster)

Hence, if you go Sage at lv89, you can learn a version of both these skills where you'll never have a "zero-second" duration; Silent Seal will always work for at least 2 seconds, and Chromatic Seal will always work for at least 4 seconds. (Of course, the Demon versions have their own perks)

It seems when you use it against mobs the times is random, but when you use them against another player the effect last the whole time.

Not sure 'bout it, but that's my impression when I use them on PvP and TWs.

@OP, Decus is correct here; Sage or Demon is a single choice that affects all of your skills (once you acquire the skill books to learn them, of course). You cannot, for example, learn Sage Silent Seal but also learn Demon Wield Thunder. Whichever path you choose allows you to learn only that path's skills.

There are certainly quite a few reasons to go Sage, as well as quite a few to go Demon. It is a tough choice, and one that requires research to make an informed decision. I suggest you continue to study the Sage/Demon skills on Ecatomb to find out which path is best for you. :)
