What the ..... !? First of all I'm from Europe myself (The Netherlands), so when I heard there were going to be 2 EU server I was like really happy. Then I heard that there was going to be a French and German client ... <-- good for them but I really don't care as long as I can play on a EU server ... I started up my client patched it and then IT happened I noticed the 2 tags in front on the EU server: DE and FR ... I mean WTF?????????????? I knew there was going to be German and French clients but 2 servers just for them HOLY sh*t ! I'm really disappointed ... I mean I know you can still play on the EU servers even without the German or French client but the first I logged I directly noticed something ...... WORLD CHAT ............ French/German all the way!! Yeah thx for that ... So I would like to do a suggestion for a solution cause I know a lot of people are angry about this.
1. Change this:
*EDIT Oops my mistake don't change it to EN but change it to EU*
2. Add a 3th EU server called:
[EU - PvP] "Name"

Of course the communication for the most part will be in either language. If you play from the English client your interface (for the most part) will be in English, however if you play from the German and French clients, your interface will be in either language.
It would be most misleading if it said EU instead of GR or FR - there are many Europeans, German and French who play this game from the English client, and they wouldn't be able to tell which server they should play in order to communicate with people who speak their language.
You on the other hand have the convenience of playing on both servers with an English interface. Announcements and such will be in whichever language the server you chose to play is. Perhaps in the future they will create a English European server, if there will be a high enough demand.

LOL ... ! I so disagree with this one. Why should it be a German or a French server in the first place? What happened to "International" "PWI"? I mean it's so obvious that the choice to make a German and French server was made by a American. Cause guess what? Yep that's right! We don't live in WW2 anymore! And no french and German aren't the International languages, it's English.
And even if there are server for JUST those country's then why aren't there server for example just: England? or The Netherlands? or Greece? Just to call some names.
So that's why I think the tag in front of the server names should be changed to EU since the server in in the EU and the International language is English so that's totally oke since this is pwI. And also the in-game announcements should just be made in English -.-
Oh and the PvP server suggestion is just a little 2nt suggestion my main suggestion is the above.0 -

Yep correct
So in short:
1. Change the French and German server to "EU" so they are international server where the main langue spoken is english. Cause after all this is Perfect World International and not PW Franch or PW Germany.'
2. Make a PvP server. Cause:
West-Coast: 2x PvE, 1x PvP
East-Coast: 2x PvE, 1x PvP

because they probably feel those are the largest markets of non english speaking players, and therefore, their largest potential for growth in europe

Give us a pvp server already omg, how much demand do you need I didn't see anyone saying oh please please pve server I love pve so fun need 2 more, everywhere you go french german forums, announcments all the polls, news items, the englishhhh forums. Everywhere is demand for a pvp server, if you want to make some money make a pvp server you know you'll have 100's of people cash shop to 100 and +12 there rank 9..... you know you want that money Perfect World YOU KNOW YOU DOOO0

The fact is that EUROPEAN Zone is not just France and Germany and their speakers that I bet mostly of those players speaks English really good. There is more Euro countries out there that want to join PWI with a better event schedule but not with another language that must do not understand........ yeah, I read that the English client runs with quests/ interface in English but I saw Duke spamming at Fre/Ger........ and also Shelly confirmed it.
To be honest most reasonable was release 2 EURO - Server with English language, one PvP and another PvE alowing the players choose the mode they prefer, and according to the posts looks like it was the popular players demand from Euro servers.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yeah but still ... the "DE" and "FR" tags in front of the name give people the idea it is a France or German server ONLY. Also announcement, duke shouts, etc ... are made is German/French >.> It should be English

Other idea ... keep it like it is but make a UK server as well

I thought this was PW International (= English), not PW France or PW Germany. I mean country's like Malaysia, Brazil got their own servers. So why don't the French and the German if the demand is really that high? Don't get me wrong I love the European servers but why not a UK one??0 -

But what if you combine all of the rest of Europe? Let's start with just pvp since the 2% of players tha actually want to play pve can go play on the 2 euro pve servers, if it's just pve they wont have such a problem with the languauge no need to talk with people or get a guild you can just go fight mobs.0

Because people in Europe were under the impression that, being they were called EU servers, that the game would be in the most universally recognized language, English, and were given the impression that this had more to do with getting significantly better ping/loss than changing up languages to cater specifically to those in France and Germany. It really isn't that hard to figure out.The servers are not for just those 2 countries.. you can play on either of them if you so choose using any one of the three clients. Well I some way it might be sort of a waste of the DE and FR clients if the DE and FR servers would be changed into a English server. So that is why I really really really like what you just said. Make another 2 server:
1. EU - English - PvP
2. EU - English - PvE0 -
Ok I've been directed here from another thread (Ty Arshies) I'm from Ireland myself and i am currently on the French server, I honestly don't feel welcome at all. In the time I've been on there (two to three hours) I've been made unwelcome by people who speak only french, I've being chewed out numerous times for being on a French server when I'm not French and I've learnt several new swear words through pms sent to me (Ty babelfish translator?
) i thought about blacklisting these people but several more pms came though not long after so I soon gave up and logged off. Due to this I have come to the conclusion to return to my old server and progress my characters to tw (probably my main objective in the game) at silly times in the morning where at least the player base is more civil to people who dont speak their language.
I agree with the idea of an En EU server, like the U.S ones but based on European timezones, I do know several players including some Spanish, some Romanians as well as others who know enough English to chat with an English player base but little to no french and maybe a little bit of German. I hope the staff take the request of an EN server seriously as its probably the only way people like me will see as a reason to progress to an endgame level.

Yep this is what really got me disappointed ... when I was reading the announcement I thought there was going to be 2 international (= English) EU servers and the 2 new clients were just extra for those that speak French/German but then I logged in to the game and noticed the "DE" and "FR" tags in front of the server names and was like WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o.O !!0 -

Myself I'm playing the German one ATM (also tried out the french one but only lvl'd to lvl 3) and I have to agree, with 75% on the people speaking German I really don't feel welcome. It might be oke for a little while but I can imagine that after a while it really will become annoying >.>0 -
If they're making servers in Europe for French and German players, what about the Spanish? The Italians? Why don't they have servers? Or better yet, if they currently play PWI THEY KNOW ENGLISH ANYWAY so why not make 1 English server. All this French and German stuff is ridiculous. And I will not be happy if the only EU English server is a freaking PvP server.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Um...American isn't a language its a nationality so your wrong there (sorry but that made me giggle for a second b:chuckle)

I'm sure a lot of people would be happy if only one server got added (A English EU PvP server) but yeah to make everyone happy they should add a English EU PvP AND PvE server.0 -

Yeah I'm coming from the same view as you here, although talking with some friends on RT they're speculating about pwi trying to attract new players, mainly the French and the Germans...and europe. BUT 54% of all europeans speak fluent English so I still dont see a problem with a third server if its posible for the staff to do*cough cough* b:surrender0 -

I wouldn't even thank them for it, as it stands, they're more or less unusable due to the language issues...0 -

Of course if you switch on the new servers where the PWI Dev's has allowed and installed the translation, is pretty normal find that the 90% of players are talking in those languages.
During the 1st months I guess, people will type in English but with the time, mostly of the player will wc in fre/ger and also talk in factions, common, whisper, etc. making other non fre/ger speakers feel kinda frustated and quit those servers. Will be the same if the release another languages server, like portuguese, spanish, romanian, italian, russian and so on.......
Didn't they checked the European Time Zone map to check the countries o_O
