Hi, Im a new character....

Hi Im a lvl 58 cleric, this is my second character, I have a lvl 100 sin that I have used to lvl my cleric to 58 from lvl 1 completely in fcc, its crazy I havent even done my fb 19 yet and Im 58!!!! But I have a question, Im planning on doing this til the cleric is 80 then catching up on cultis and stuff, but do you think its gonna be possible from the hundreds of bh's/fcc's/tt's Ive done on my sin that Ill be able to just take my cleric into fcc and be all pro/elite on it?

If you know that in a squad you should heal with ih and that purify as soon as possible (when needed), you should be fine.
If it is not enough, learn your class before lvling it up trough fc.

Yes. Because Assassin and cleric are nearly identical in playstyle. You can easily transfer your techniques and knowledge from one to the other as they both carry the same role in a squad. Plus, having a 100+ Sin to power level alts in this way automatically makes you pro at all other classes.




Seriously dude...why are you asking this? Stop every 10 levels with the cleric and learn the damn class in bh's at the very least.

Moving this to the Cleric subforums. And in answer to your question? In my opinion, clerics have one of the hardest jobs in PWI, especially with the new waves of people whose sole goal is to steal aggro from whatever class is tanking. This means more vigilant eyes, and going from playing a sin (relatively simple past 100) to playing a cleric will take some time. I would personally suggest catching up on cultis and learning your class, particularly because you need to get Resurrect.

Just get a look and the guides to have a minimum knowledge of the class...


if you want a support cleric you should max:
IH, revive, purify, chromatic, stream, plume shell, passive skills and the buffs

learn BB, RB and WoP


for the attacks skill i dont know much cuz im a noob at cler, im p.levelling mine that will serve just as a back up while ill solo instance with multi.

I am really happy you're not in my server.. another barbie-cleric who doesnt know what to do even at lvl 80 is just what we need here
I hope you will think about your power leveling and stop it to learn this beautiful class.

techniques and knowledge? aside from the term support what makes it so different from any other class, they all have their roles and if you were an observant person you could technically learn a class without ever having to play it.

to be honest the original post was a mock of everyone crying about powerleveling and how it affects people abilities to play their class correct. but really thats not the issue, I think and will always think its the person controlling the character that determines the efficiency of a character.

and really if you want to get technical you wont fully learn a character and its skills until lvl 79 anyways but most of them at 59. so really if i powerleveled to 59 thats when i really learn the majority of my skills anyways so why would it be an issue if I never "played" the class til 59 anyways?

the repurcussions are going to be the same at 59 as they would be at 19 as they will also be at 100, people dying, party wipes, whatever.....

and I know I am going to be flamed for this but seriously how hard is it to be a support cleric in an instance squad? Ive seen them hundreds of times, heals, bubbles, purifies, debuffs on mobs/bosses, buffing squads...in my opinion just because ive done runs in FCC on an alt and know when and where clerics are supposed to do what, I would beleive that starting off playing it at lvl 80 id have a better chance at not letting the party die than some cleric that has played up until 80 and never stepped foot in FCC, same goes for other instances im just using that as an example

So really what makes your view any better than mine?

well he is right. when i played this archer long long time ago, i pretty much learned what other classes have to do in squads and when to do. when i made cleric it was easy to play as i already knew what/when have to do. so far i havent heard any1 telling me that im bad cleric. if you have been observant what clerics does in squads it should be easy for you.

No class in this game is hard to play, but every class does have a learning curve, which is steeper the higher you level without playing around with it doing quests, bh, and all that, figuring out how to use what skills and when.

I learned how to do most of BM and barb well before I rolled those classes, mainly from observing decent players of those classes and how they benefit squads. The rest is merely doing it yourself, which should be easy, but there are plenty of stupid people who haven't figured out over 2 years from now how to play, so.. that one is up to you.

Honestly, know your boundaries. Every class can be easy, and yes clerics are generally more flexible. But tell you what: the moment **** goes down in the squad, the CLERIC is going to be the one having the BIGGEST fit.

And that is when you will see how experience of actually playing the class beats "knowing and observing".

So please, do as you like, but dont make your fancy powerlvling an excuse to insult our community.

PS: It gets tougher as you progress in levels. TT 3-3 I THINK THAT SAID ENOUGH b:cry

I guess your right, Ill just have to make some awesome videos and post them, and normally that would be a necro post to this thread but hell I guess these days with sold FCC's and now with the dragoons exploit-cheat-**** I could be 105 before 30 days on 3 different characters, lord willing.

oh and one last thing, I didnt powerlevel randomly....it was totally planned and intentional, and it will happen again, and feel free to pm me if you ever want me to help u out, I wont even charge if you post in this thread how cool I am.

FC era started not with EG, but with the fishy expansion. EG didnt affect at all the "bad or less bad" players.
You should go back before the fishy expansion. The playerbase learned the basics at lvl30 back then instead of lvl90. b:bye
It has a reason why everyone says, sins are the worst players among the server and why powerleveld chars are considered as fail. "No smoke without a fire."

I know, people tend to blame powerleveling for everything. Partly, I would say heads DID ruin the game a bit, but oh well, that's another story, it's my personal opinion, so whatever.

Coming back to the thread, I don't think its precisely the "powerleveling" people are flaming you about. It's your attitude towards others BECAUSE you powerleveled. Honestly, I bet you most people that complain have good friends that powerlvled. However, what makes them different is that they do not view themselves as "superior" to others because they know a bit more about the game, they are higher lvl and blah blah blah.

Honestly, re-read it. Re-read it as if this is the first time you've seen this. And then maybe you'll have a better idea as to why you're being flamed and looked down on.

Actually, supporting a squad is quite hard. You have to watch everything- the roster, the squad's position, the mobs, the boss, yourself, which way the boss is turned, whose hp is dropping fastest, how fast is it dropping, is it dropping too fast for IH, do you have time to use chromatic, do you have time to rezz, which DDs have bp,.....the list goes on and on.

When I was on my 100 archer I didn't understand that. I also thought it looked easy. And then I rolled cleric and found out it isn't.

I think it's easy being a mediocre cleric. Most people are mediocre r8 clerics. It's a lot harder to become a really great cleric though, the ones who get called FIRST for Nirvanas/TTs/FCs/BHs all the time. Everyone else is just an adequate replacement for that one awesome cleric on your friends list that couldn't be there at the time for whatever instance you're doing. b:chuckle
