You want to have 200 with armour bonuses, not 200 base. Make sure all your gear collectively will reach 200. Most reset to get this right so they don't have to use something stupid because they don't have enough dex. Anything more than 200 is kind of a waste.

Also about vit, you don't need it much if you don't plan on pking. But if you can't afford good refines it's not bad to have some vit, although you will end up resetting it when you can afford high refines. Just make sure you have around 300 str and around 200 dex (both with bonuses) and you can put points in to vit. If you don't pk it's less likely you'll need the vit unless you're ambitious and you wanna take on good instances/bosses.

This is good advice. Honestly, if you shard your gear and refine it +2 or+3 you won't need vit as long as you know how to play a BM decently, but vitality does help. If you are pvp stat more vitality. If you are pve you can go with base. Here is how I recommend statting:

1-20: 3 Strength, 1 dex, 1 vit. This will give you 25 vit and enough strength for axes. Most the weapons pre level 30 are quest reward axes. At level 30 you might want to switch to fists.

21-70: 3 strength, 2 dex. This is to wear axes, fists, and all weapons in between, as well as your armor. You will have great DD.

71-90: 2 strength, 2 dex, 1 vit. You are approaching endgame and will fight some bosses that hit decently hard, like pole and some TT bosses. You also may be expected to do FCC pulls. Calamity Axes are level 70 and th best axes you can use until level 90, that's why I suggest once you have the strength for level 70 axes and level 90 armor you can add 1 vit a level for 20 levels. Keep adding to dex to use current level fists.

91-99: 3str, 2 dex

100+: As your refines and shards catch up you should restat to a "pure" build of 3 vitality (and 3 magic), 200 dex (with gear), and everything else into strength. 7k or 8k is the mimimum a 100+ BM should have.


Note: at some points you will be slighlty short on stats for either axes or fists. Pretty much any gear set you will stumble across will have either + str or +dex so plan ahead or be prepared to chose either using axes at your current level, or fists (chose fists.)

Once you've reached level 30+ they're usually faster, if you're gonna use skills, use axes though since they have higher base damage.

Huh... I admit I was once partial to this view point (enough strength for gear, rest into Vit). However once I reached 100 and realized that the 50 points I had in vitality would increase my base damage by nearly half of 1K were they added to strength instead, I wasted no time restating Vit back down to 3.

Now with refines and shards alone, my HP is currently over 10 K (13 K with Barb buff) and I'm not even done refining yet.

For PvP build you'll of course want min str (287 for me) for axes and 200 dex for fists, then the rest in Vitality.

Those R9 mages and archers hurt; I'm vit build even with +11 armor refines (23K hp buffed), but I still feel squishy.

I've only got 100 base vit lol; not like 1k more base damage would do much with the 75% PvP reductions.

Don't get me started on how the only "pro" BMs now are those that are R9 axe skill button mashing BMs thanks to the CC nerf,,,

I never mentioned anything about anyone being "pro" and R9. And the CC nerf I think is a bad excuse at this point b:surrender

True, you did not mention that, nor the fact that your observation was made on a full buffed target. Where 600-700 on fists is actually considered high at 4aps.

Now your being an idiot because it is not like you have not gone after me when I was self-buffed and I only based the damage off that, TW you generally hit me less because I have almost 16k pdef when in TW and buffed (9.8k self), I will leave you to your CC R9 QQ now.

I'm assuming your observations also occurred after CC nerf, and also included your phys def charms proc'ing and sage spark damage reduction too then? No coincidence at all therrrre.

Funny since I never see you when I am out of SZ, which lately has been plenty and often alone with a Wizard sitting there, often self-buffed only b:shutup

Also funny how you have yet to kill me even in TW in how long? Also, when you do see me in pk and you decide to come out you always have 3-4 people in your guild posted in blue and immediately pop white once you move in for an attack, oh and you all post up there with all your buffs and/or those cute little pills from the Quiz event (of which I keep in my bank ).

Additionally, I never spark in TW, I Plume Shell which tends to leave me as a chi punching bag b:laughb:victory...reducing 85% of incoming damage is hilarious and often gets a fister killed before killing me.

Lol? You come onto the BM forums acting like you know what BMs were like starting from 08. You really don't know as much about BMs as you think. They started as support classes in 08, and were able to solo 1v1 PK in 09 after packs. BMs now remain a support class as they started, they just can't 1v1 anymore since CC is gone.

No BMs ever complained about BMs not being able to function as a support class, they
only complained about the loss of being able to 1v1 solo PK. Support class functionality never stopped. So your point is invalid.

And P.S. it's not my job to kill you in TW since I only attack clerics in TW when it's needed for immediate base defense TW. I'm usually stunning wizards and venos. b:shutup

My observations are from PK since I don't really go for clerics in TW.

The Def charms still work at 105, it was just a faulty description on the item. It's 105 and below, not below 105.
