Its funny how after months and months and months of asking for the Duke to be completely silenced from pretty well the enitre community (judging from forum posts and WC spam), when they finally do it........not one word.
Duke Blacke's shouts have been fixed again... as a bonus, he should no longer say anything about your beloved Tokens of Best Luck.

    I knew it was coming and believed it was an accident they turned him on in the first place. He annoys the **** out of the gms and the mods from what i gathered from the first time they put a gag on it. :P

    A short time after the servers came back up, I saw a Duke shout pop up about someone getting a bike key.
    Somewhat retired from PWI, now playing Hellgate Global full time

    They obviously aren't going to mute it completely, of someoen gets a harder to obtain prize it will announce it. It's just not going to spam us with the countless tokens of BL or shout nearly as often anymore. He went back to the way he was prior the last maintenance with additional gagging for TOBL.

    Some guy punches you in the face about 50 times a day. You ask him to stop. He says he will ... soon. A few weeks later he's still punching you in the face so you ask again. He says he'll stop. This goes on for a few months and has happened before several times as well. Eventually he finally stops. You really think it's impolite not to thank him?

    At least one player that I know of has "quit in protest" because they didn't shut him up for good, as frankieraye said they would do.

    Frankie said he would gag him again, not shut him up for good. And i'm betting that just this reason isn't the whole story. It was only for a few weeks, not even a month. And now we see why they took so long with the patch. The arena is here.

    They've started fixing glitches

    They've muted the duke

    They put the medals back in the game

    They gave us to dq points to make up for the nerf and have made a commitment to adding new stuff to it recently

    They've reduced rubber banding

    They opened the arena

    They fixed the jones blessing page

    they are holding more events

    Yeah, PWI still has problems that should have been fixed a long time ago. Yeah, PWI has made some incredibly stupid decisions and at the moment game play is unbalanced. The new chat filter is absolute bs. But we haven't been completely ignored either.

    Opening it for 45 minutes a day is not opened..the Arena is a 24h/7 days a week instance to PVP, not 45 minutes...

    I still Rubberband every 5 meters if i play max settings and jump around.

    I give them props for finally making duke shut up though.

    I don't really rubberband anymore and several people on the forums have noted and proved the same thing. If you can't play it on max settings then perhaps it is being caused by lag. That sucks but that isn't the same thing as it being a glitch.

    Considering the arena used to not be open at all, I'd say opening it up is opening it up. Besides that, I'm guessing they are running it as an event to test it out because they are going to have to use it told that worldwide pvp tournament. Once the novelty of that wears off they'll probably tweak it a bit. Remember we have more rank 9s and aps people than the other versions, and so to keep balance in the way they can they are probably going to examine it closely. IIRC the reason it was never implemented was because it was glitchy and would have been to easy to abuse.

    Arena has never been glitchy and theres nothing to abuse in there.
    I dont think you've ever been in there on PWI's beta have you?
    Or the countless other versions of PW that have it opened since like always.

    Jump on an NPC head 2 or 3 times and tell me if you get stucked, try flying from high air, get off the airmount and using "W"to move forwards after you dropped down..you'll rubberband in 90% of the cases.

    More then likely what they did to the duke is shut him up completely. No announcing wraith attacks, no announcement that this person got a nix/herc. Something people complained about once upon a time to get his voice turned back on. People complained that he was annoying way back so they turned him off. Day's later people complained since no one heard of any wraith attacks. So they turned him back on, just not as vocal as he once was.

    I didn't play it during Beta so I''m not totally sure, which is why I said "if i recall correctly" meaning that I could be wrong. Either way, that is what I was told was the reason that they chose not to open the arena. Since PK is something they make quite a bit of money on, I believed em. :P And I don't get stuck anymore when I fall down on top of an NPCS head, try to climb a mountain, etc. I've rubberbanded once in the past few months and not long after I was DC so I'm guessing it was something on my end. I think I remember seeing a thread not too long saying that other users had experienced the same thing.
