    Healing/purifying/debuffing, where you are helping the team through non-direct attacks.

    I recommend going to the cleric sub forum. It has stickies guides on how to play the class and different builds, spreadsheets on sage/demon skills, and a lot of helpful clerics willing to answer any questions you may have.

    If your in a squad w/ two or more Clerics, you can have one Cleric as the main healer, and the other as the support Cleric. The support Cleric IH/squad heals when needed, purifys the party if needed, rebuffs when needed, and debuffs the bosses/mobs when needed.

    W/ more than two Clerics in the squad, you can make one a DD/secondary support Cleric.

    There was an idea of people who made "attack clerics" who wanted in squads but not as the main healer, they wanted to DD. So they'd ask for a second cleric to come to heal so they could dd. They're also called "Metal mages" because they use metal element attacks and act like a wizard. The opposite of an attack cleric is a support cleric: A cleric who is there to support the squad with heals, purifies, squad buffs, and mob debuffs and let DDs do the DDing and tanks do the tanking.

    Someone had a great signature with "Attack cleric" crossed out, "Support Cleric" crossed out, and had "Full Cleric" circled. Haven't seen it for a while, but anyways they were pointing out that clerics have a roll in the squad to heal and buff and purify, but not every tank needs someone standing there spamming IH on them even though the tanks hp isn't moving. In that case start attacking and debuffing mobs. Be a "full cleric."

    That may very well be the most direct, concise argument I've seen so far in the whole "attack vs support" discussion that continues to pop up in the cleric forum.
