great cyclone cancels the current slow?

I've got a level 24 cleric, and it seems that when I use great cyclone on a mob that's already slowed, it cancels the slow instead of extending the duration. It's hard to completely confirm, since it's not a 100% chance to cause the slow. Has anyone else experienced this? I've noticed a similar thing with bleed effects, which everyone seems to think stack.

to see how DoT's (Damage over Time) stack is easy to see, since you can see the damage ticks above the targets head.
for the slow debuff, if it can or cannot be overwritten no clue, never tried or looked out for it.
stun or freeze can't be overwritten (extended by a second cast while the first one is still working)
since you said you had the feeling a second cast on the still working slow seems to cancle it i would guess, no, can't be overwritten.
you just have the feeling it stops by the second skill cast but the first just wears off and the second had no effect because the first was in that moment still working0 -
Slow overwrites, you're just unlucky.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Part of the problem is that, even when a buff/debuff stacks or overwrites, the icon related to the buff/debuff goes away according to the original duration time, rather than the updated duration time. In slow's case (assuming it does in fact overwrite, which I'm not sure of either), the slow effect would still be present - its icon just wouldn't show after the first 5 seconds or whatever it was.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

Ya, had a friend help me test it. It does extend the duration, just doesn't keep the status icon. Same with the bleed effects. The main reason I was confused is because the wizards slow spell DOES keep the status icon. The status icon also stayed when I used the cleric slow on my friend. Lesson learned, ignore icons for debuffs that you cast on others.0 -
