Hey all,
The DQ system has been having some issues for the past couple days, and we need to take it down temporarily to get it working correctly.
Downtime should be no more than 90 minutes.
Thanks for your patience

I wasn't aware this thing still existed, apart from those medals nothing in there is really worthwhile.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Hey all, the DQ system is back up, and all point totals should now be accurate.
Over the past few days, some accounts were given more points than they were supposed to have. If these unearned points were actually spent at that time, then the related account will have a negative balance now that the system has corrected itself.
To get out of the negative, an account would have to vendor items from the DQ Item List or complete the DQ Jolly Old Jones quest until zero is reached.
We're still compiling the total effects from this, and we'll update you if there are any further developments.0 -

You think I would have bought the items if I knew? Now you force me to farm for about 15 hours to get those points back?BladedZero - Sanctuary

Although I didn't realize I was spending points that weren't mine, fair is fair. I picked the prizes, sent them to my character. You play you pay. I will be spending lots of time to get my points back to zero also, but I did get the items so its fair.0 -
Wish id had half a billion points given to me. Id have spammed event gold like it was drugs. **** paying back, id have refined **** and been charmed for months b:dirty By the time I ran out, id probably have generated the points back, or wouldnt give a ****. b:chuckle0

I probably would have noticed half a billion hehe....... but it was only 15k and I grind all the time anyway so didn't notice until I went in the hole.0 -

Just making it impossible for someone to get more items from the DQ shop for months of the "average" players vending of DQ items. Oh, I see. Completely fair.
/sarcasm
So basically, players that hadn't checked their DQ points for months, could have logged in and bought items thinking that was their actual balance of points. Now they get negative points for that? Hardly sounds fair. Not everyone logs on PWI's website everday and checks their balance of DQ points.
I has an idea! How about your team gets together and says... "Hey we messed up. Our bad.", and doesn't penalize players for something that they didn't have any say in? For the record, I haven't spent any DQ points in months, so my "QQ" is justified, as I'm probably one of the few in this thread that is completely not affected by this, but still decides to stand up for my ideals.0 -
It was the DQ system that was messed up. Players should not have to "earn back" from the negative that was put on them, mine was reasonable, however some have negative in the millions....Does the team just not know how to fix this?0
-
i dont see the QQ people who are negative spent the dq and got what they wanted so what if they have to farm what they spent? they spent those points thinking they had it and still got items[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -

It's PWI's fault for telling me I had more to spend then I really did not mine. They should pay my negative balance back not me. I'd have gladly spent 2k on dye if that's what I was suppose to have. b:byeBladedZero - Sanctuary

Some people have negative millions, how is this fair for them?0 -

I believe we went into the hole the amount we spent..... so if they are negative millions, then they must of spent millions on items? I bet if thats the case, they knew it was a glitch. I can't imagine having a million points in there and thinking that was correct. I don't believe I would have spent them had I found that many extra.0 -

I don't see how anyone could have spent that much. PWI tends to **** up on stuff, so that was my assumption.0 -

Normally I'm on the QQ side of the fence but I honestly don't see what's so bad about this. Either way, you'll be paying in points for what you want - you just got the items first is all.
For people wanting the negative balances cleared out of fairness - would it then be fair on the rest of us who didn't spend points over the last day or two that we don't get free items? Fair is fair; you get the item, you earn the points.
Also, with 2x about to start it'll be easier to make up the points.0 -

This, I only have to make back 2000 dq points because my balance was right around where it should have been in the first place. :P I didn't know because I hadn't checked in a while, and as I said it was right around where it should have been. It seemed a tad higher but I figured that it was probably from when I grinded not too long ago because I felt like doing a couple of quests just for the hell of it. I feel bad for the numbers in the millions but then again, I feel as though you should know full well if you aren't actively grinding for points that your points shouldn't be in the millions anyway.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If someone logged in for the first time in two months and bought a bunch of items thinking that his point balance was accurate, then he just got his items far earlier than he would have been able to normally. Had the error not occurred, he would be sitting here now with no items and the need to farm DQs to be able to get them.
So it's also not fair that some players were mistakenly given points while others were not, because they are now sitting on items that should have taken substantial effort to obtain.
On the other hand, if the person spent the points knowing that they were actually caused by a glitch, then this would fit the definition of exploiting, which is against the ToS (under the section about User Conduct). Technically we could temporarily ban these accounts and attempt to recover the items obtained, but this would be a lengthy process and we'd rather not shut players out of the game.0 -

From the moral point of view, thats about right.
From the bussiness point of view... you make a mistake, you assume it with no consequences for the customer. And most likely someone will get fired for it XD
Personally I like the moral point of view.Madness?

No.....
If your bank mistakenly credits you with extra money, do you get to spend it? Perhaps. But if you do, you will get to pay it back once the error is discovered. Every bank I've ever dealt with works this way, and 'I didn't know it wasn't mine' is never an acceptable excuse.
This is no different, and its more fair for everyone than the alternatives.
