how do i do blacksmithing

i had this blacksmith skill and i learned it. so its at lvl 1 how do i level it up?

    you make stuff at the blacksmith. this fills up your blacksmithing experience bar, a little at a time --- it's a green (IIRC) progress bar in the corner of the window that you use to make stuff. once it's full, you go to an elder and learn blacksmithing level 2.
