Does rank 9 +6 (weapon only) do way more damage than a rank 8 +10.

Currently a +9 rank 8 wiz. I was gonna get to +10 but with this rep sales I'm thinking of getting the rank 9 weapon and ring. This will make me really broke so for a long time after getting the rank 9 weapon my refinement will only be +6. Will I do way more damage with a rank 9 weap +6 than a rank 8 +10 or the damge difference isn't much? Also, I know I will be giving up 2% crit becuz rank 8 only gives 2% crit while rank 8 gives 4% though the -10 channeling on rank 9 is really awesome too. This will make my -chan be 40% and withought giving up physical def

Well... talking about m.attack its better a r8 +10 than a r9 +6 but the r9 has the amazing ring, and the weapon has +30 attack lvl, thats alot more attack.

Go r9 wep, I'd guess the r9 would do more damage on most targets.. But even if it was a little less, the stats are alot better on r9 wep and youll save alot of money in the long run. No point throwing good money after bad.

The question to my mind is do you think you will EVER get the full rank 9 set? Because the set bonus makes rank 9 weapon crazy good.

Now, if you said no - imagine the price for full rank 9 is HALF what it is today. Gonna get the full rank 9 set now?

Also, think of this - compare the cost for the rank 9 weapon to the full set of rank 9 armor. I'm still rocking tt99 weapon, but with my rank 9 armor and DoTs (3-4m each, some things I do so love about our server) in the arms and pants (till some day jade, but meh) I have another almost 20 attack level on my tt99 weapon, more defense, more defense level, better hp per refine from rank 9 armor, more crit, etc., etc., etc.

My way is not for everyone, but you should think about it. With +9 rank 8 weapon already, you could use the same money to get most if not all of the other rank 9 gear, get the set bonuses to beef up your r8 weapon, and when it comes time to buy the biggest and most expensive piece, the rank 9 weapon, you might just get it at half off.

With +9 rank 8 weapon already, you could use the same money to get most if not all of the other rank 9 gear, get the set bonuses to beef up your r8 weapon, and when it comes time to buy the biggest and most expensive piece, the rank 9 weapon, you might just get it at half off.

I think there's a difference in cost also, yet some swap equips should be added to the cost of my build (which I do have and use like a +5 map 3 belt and +5 sky demons pearl *both cheap) . Most of my equips can also be account shared.

I'm just saying I don't think rank 9 is something to rush out and get, nor is it the end all - be all. I'll probably have a shareable Nirvana stage 2 magic sword before I go rank 9.

It's only 20% less defense than the example given and can be compensated as needed with equip swapping: http://pwcalc.com/?char=e14efe1c20150733 - and that build I'd only use for Colluseast or extreme situations. The first build is fine for most occasions.

Venos needs for pdef/hp is less than wiz because we aren't stuck in DB tanking dmg like in RB. We have pets to buffer aggro and buy time for curses. s.Fox form puts that first build at 42%, just 2% under the rank9 example.

what will you do when a sin gets on you... and i just mean a normal not pro sin... and starts beating on you... or even an archer.... you will melt in 3 to 4 hits... jmo...

I'm following ur advice. It really makes sense....Got R9 robe and leggings both +5 and sharded with DoT's. Will prolly get weap on next sale. Hope gold prices go down so i can buy gold with all these coins

Yes, thats what I am hoping too. A drop in gold price to 700k again, that alone would make rank 9 weapon half off.

Oh, and don't EVER, EVER say you are following MY advice. Just do it, but don't say it. People like Adroit want you to follow their advice regardless of how much sense someone else makes. If I had a nickle for the number of people that have pm'd me saying "reading the wizard forums I figured you were a horrible wiz, but your incredible", well, ok, id have 30 cents, lol, but the point is, its true.

Now, I say that not to say that I am incredible. I am not. If you learn the game and get decent gear, any monkey can be as good as I am. I never give advice for people to follow because I am convinced im so pro. That's what adroit does.

I give advice because I know what WORKS. What 95% of every wizard out there successfully does. I am not an innovator (ok, getting rank 9 armor first instead of just ring and weapon is a little different, but I wouldn't call it innovation). For the most part, this game is old enough, and this class is unchanged enough, that there is very little that is new.

Innovation I will leave to Adroit and others. I will let them read all the skills for all the new classes and post all their thoughts on this about them or that about them. The fact is, Adroit does occasionally have some decent things to say, if you can sift through all his condescending over stuffed ego to get to the gist of it. But are there many innovations on his or anyone else's part? When it comes to Wizards? No. So you don't have to be "pro" to know them. All you have to do is read, and pay attention, and play a little.

A. You compared magic attack with your weapon at +10 2 gems and mine clean.

B. Fixing that http://pwcalc.com/ef7a89477004854d magic attack is ALOT closer, "better" magic attack can be one of opinion, I suppose, since the difference is really just due to weapon type. I'll leave that for each to decide, but with the coin put into the gear you've just shown, I'd cry if I hit an ulti on the 12k side of your magic attack, ijs.

C. Compare crit rate too, plz. Crit>channeling for pvp, pet healer. And I don't know what to say about hp and pdef on your build b:surrender I'd 1 shot you without debuff, without frenzy, hell, probably without an endgame weapon. Hand me that +3 aquadash over there please . . . .

D. Oh, notice with the rank r9 neck added the difference in attack levels, please. If I have the rank 9 weapon, im not going to let 130m or whatever keep me from the set bonus.
