So i log on today and i see so many WCing for PV 95+
At 1st i thought they were trolling, like the ones selling EXP ROOM for 101+ range. But then ive seen a friend of mine WCing for that so i asked him and he told me they implemented PV on last patch.
Now my question is: When will you guys learn to POST OFFICIAL THREADS on your official changes...?
This last patch was a kick in the nuts for BMs and SIN for CC removal (yay), and they had to discover it by themselves.
They screwed barb's sunder critical hit and took it back without official post.
Now there's this valley thing.
I mean, if some1 by chance doesnt check patch notes anymore cuz its always minor localization, how's he supposed to know these changes ?

Quite a few changes aren't even in the patch notes, they should do away with them so we can figure it out on our own, seems to be how it goes anyway.0 -

They've got more important things to so at PWE offices, like play Halo 2, than post patch notes. >_>101 Sage Sin*/Archer
100 Demon BM*/Barb
96 Demon Cleric/Sage Seeker
95 Demon Wiz/
94 Sage Veno
85 Psy/80 Mystic
And a handful of other alts, all 79 and under.

*cough* PV was mentioned in the patch notes....Patch Notes Version 528
Released June 1, 2011
Phoenix Valley
Two more brackets have been opened up for higher level players within Phoenix Valley. Players that are Lv85 - 94 and Lv95+ will have access to their own version of Phoenix Valley.
Chronobike Dyeing
Now that the Seamstress is looking good, she's got a new outlook on life and a new skill. Speak to her if you want to dye your Chronobike.
Pet Eggs
It is now possible to bind Pet Eggs to yourself using Binding Charms.
Misc
The Chieftain's Battlecat was unintentionally renamed Thunder Leopard. It should be fixed with the next patch.
It looks like Duke Blacke is back to his old mischievous ways and is making more announcements than we'd like. We're going to have another talk with him about his behavior. He should be quieter in the next patch.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

There are countless things they change each week without it being documented. They use the players as lab rats to know what has actually been changed, because they don't have a clue themselves.Waterfal - Sanctuary wrote: »*cough* PV was mentioned in the patch notes....
The problem with this, few people check the main website for updated information per patch. Even fewer check the patch notes. 95% of the population goes by what they see when they open the patcher, and if the patcher's rotating picture(s) catch the player's eye, they click the picture to load the full webpage. Very few players read the patch notes, because they aren't super easy to find for someone who has just started the game. Also, the patch notes are generally 5% of what was actually changed in the game, as they don't document most changes, and instead leave it up to the players.0 -

you mean that the word Patch Notes at the top of general disscussion is hard to see? i look around on most games and its incredibly hard to find patch notes. b:bye this is extremely easy to find and complaining that you cant find them is lolz worthy.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -

I don't personally have any issues finding the patch notes. If I did, and going by my forums join date... I should probably quit the game. However, if you think the average player reads the patch notes after each patch, your dead wrong. Why would someone who doesn't go to the forums nor the PWI website, go to the patch notes? The average player doesn't know where the patch notes are, so why would the average player know that a new instance for PV 95+ was implemented, unless that player saw it via world chat, faction chat, etc?0 -

I'd prefer them to stay where the are to be honest, as it stands now they are act as both a news update and archive. Sure PWI could just make the news article link back to it but that would be redundant and eventually they would probably just stop archiving them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I mean, do an official post of PV 95+ (or whatever) on NEWS page.
Write down all your hilarious bullship story, like you've always done for every article in NEWS page.
Then post into patch notes more specificly(is this even a word?) the changes you have done.
Is it that diffcult ?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I mean I know that they don't always put all the changes in the patch note. But in this case, it was there and you just didn't want to find it? Other games I play, patch notes are also posted on the forum. You are complaining that you didn't see the patch note because you didn't go to the spot where patch notes are posted? Are you kidding me? If an "average" play doesn't bother spend 2 mins coming on the forum and check out news/updates/patch notes/events, then I guess the average player doesn't mind being left out. The info aren't in the middle of a maze. Stop being lazy. Where did I say I had trouble finding the patch notes? Quote it from my posts and enlighten me. I said the average player would have trouble, as the average player doesn't go on the forums. Do you not believe the average player doesn't go on the forums? I just read in a thread responded to by a mod that the player base doesn't reflect well on the forums, because many people don't go on the forums.
Damn right it's not a maze. It takes me under 10 seconds to view the patch notes when they are released each week. But guess what? Hey! It's not about me. I don't know you want to direct so much Internet rage directly at someone, who was simply stating the obvious. The average player doesn't read patch notes, nor often views the main website and/or forums. Don't like it? Go play a different game, where the game is in the forums, so that all players must see the forums, website, and patch notes.
I'll be looking forward to your oh so whitty response. b:bye0 -

Oh this isn't about you? Then why did you talk about YOU not knowing about the changes then?
What? This doesn't even make sense. I don't give a **** if the average player doesn't read the news or patch notes lol. It means less people find out about changes that I can take financial advantage of. Umm that part should be something I say to you. Like, "the notes are posted on the forum. Don't like it? Go play another game". When did I complain about average player not reading patch notes?
Again, I'm not personally complaining. I'm merely stating over, and over, and over for people like you, who can't grasp this... I know the patch notes, and each patch note thread that exists. It's not about me however. It seem's that people don't understand how English works. When I quote someone in the thread and reply, that's a response to the person. That's not a complaint, but merely a thought/idea that has been stated.
Each patch, new patch notes are out. What the OP is stating, is that the only way a player would know PV 95+ now exists is through the patch notes or in-game. He goes on to state that there should be a news post on the website, so when people open the patcher, they will be able to see and know that a new instance for PV 95+ now exists.
While the average player doesn't view the forums, website, or patch notes, this means that most aren't going to know about the instance. All I was originally stating was this and a remark towards this, however you wanted to make it seem as though I want things to massively chance, and how concerned I am.Okeano - Harshlands wrote: »Are you kidding me? All of this is saying "If you want to know what was implemented in the game, you should go find and read the patch notes for yourself." All the OP was stating is that they should have noted in a news post when something like a new bracket of an instance is released, because people won't know about it. You complained about the average player not reading patch notes, by stating that if they didn't read patch notes, but wanted to know the information, they would be "lazy" "stu..." (No doubt, "stupid"), etc.0 -

I was saying that if they did post the patch notes on the NEWS PAGE (see i can capslocks too!) it would be redundant. Eventually one of them would phase out, probably the forum posts. And then we would have a harder time cataloging changes.
If you don't know what redundant means, it means repetitive. But it doesn't just mean repetitive it has the added meaning of also saying that its not useful or needed. So it conveys two ideas in one easy word. Hence the reason I used it instead of repetitive. I apologize if using made it so that you couldn't understand what I meant. I think it's a pretty common word, but not everyone on here speaks English as their first language.
Back on topic, There is no point nor good reason for them to write down the changes twice. A vague news post that only talks about one change and doesn't give any specific information is a worthless version of the patch notes and would probably replace it once they realize they are doing the same work twice. Who wants that? That is why I disagree with it being on the news page.
Specifically is indeed a word, by the way. It doesn't look like it on on your end because you did not spell it correctly.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

C'mon! Make up your mind!
I do agree however that we don't get enough info in the patch notes, there are changes made all the time without mention of it.
However about PV. I was only pointing out that it was mentioned in the patch notes, since you said it wasn't... if you/anyone else don't/doesn't check it doesn't mean it's not there.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

They should just do a news post for each patch so that it shows up in the launcher. Not something for an individual piece of the patch (unless it's big, which this really wasn't since we already had PV) but just the same thing you'd find in the patch notes forum. This would mean that there'd have to be a little bit more than just "minor localization changes" but at least everyone would see it, or know where to find it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

OMFG CONFUSION b:cold
@waterfall: patch notes is like a recap of what we got, the info we got out there are not satisfying.
I know that patch notes is the official thread, but is news pages that that major part of the community looks at
When nix valley came out we had all that moronic story on news page, that explained somewhat what was it all about, as every post in news page. It had pictures and description. Patch notes just has few words on some issues, not as close as news page description.
What i was asking is to have an ARTICLE on new page, and a NOTIFICATION on patch note
that probaly would be repetitive but it wont be redundant (cuz i know what it means). That way every player that doesnt look through forum can be informed. As Tremble desperately tried to point out the player base on forum is like less than 90%. But many players happens to read the news when launcher pops up.
Is not redundant if its helpfull
@Armani: For redundant/repetitive difference read above...
im sorry professor if i dont have a bright mind atm. But you see, in the state where you get your clothes from (ITALY) is already past midnight.
They made like 4 thread in the news page for this patch, REP,DYE,FASH and TOKEN SHOP. Was is that difficult to do another thread with the opening of nix valley ? I dont think so...
They are used to recicle stuff already made (see recoloured mounts, warsong and nix valley itself).
They could have posted a thread with nix valley information, since they are so good at doing their job twice or even more...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I can see both sides to this issue, The older guys the ones that used to look at patch notes like myself weekly should know where to look...but sadly most of us are not here anymore due to one thing or another....So the "average player" like most of the ones we see today have NO idea what the hell goes on on the Perfect World Website.....They just charge gold and run FCC till they are end game and sit around doing nothing.....tho just my two cents.....b:byeRoes are RED, Carebears are blue, No one cares because GM'S still SCREWED YOU!!!!0

PooRitan - Sanctuary wrote: »once there was a time (again one of those posts), detailed patch notes could be found on the main page and not hidden in the forum
And what ended up happening? The news posts got buried (not good at catalogging) and someone got tired of doing both (stopped doing newsposts) and now none of it is done well eg Recent patch notes vs the ones we used to have. That's what happens when you add redundancy to the system. Instead of them coming up with clever ways to say the same thing twice, I'd rather they put more details to the ones we have now. While MonkeyShatter has definitely improved upon the last patch notes we had (minor localization changes) drastically, there is still a lot to be desired and lot of important things were unreported. Albeit not the change OP was mentioning. Those who don't take the time to read the patch notes usually do so because they can learn about it in game. They clearly don't care about them as much as the people who actually would take the time to find them do.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
