Multi-Client functionality changed - Here's the fix!

Hello guys, it seems as if the functionality of multi-clienting has been changed and is no longer available by opening a new launcher while already being in game on another client. There is an easy fix for that:

1) Go to the drive you installed Perfect World International on. i.e. C://, D:// etc
2) Go to the Perfect World Entertainment Folder
3) Go to the Perfect World International Folder
4) Go to the Element folder
5) Double Click elementclient.exe and you are done.

By doing so you will be able to multi-client same as before, without experiencing any problems. That solution is completely valid and legal, and I remind you that the rule against multi-clienting has changed - you can review it here: Multi-Clienting Rule Changes.

    you go to the drive* not driver.. and basically you just need to use/make a shortcut to elementclient.exe (skip the launcher)

    Make sure you keep your shortcut to your patcher. That kinda makes patching easier on Wednesday. b:chuckle

    pssh it really isn't that hard to open the folder once a week to open the launcher.. I save my desktop area for icons I use regularly XD

    This is how it worked before with the old Element Client launcher. You could multi-client without "modding" game files, yet it was still against the rules. But this is pretty much the same exact concept. oh well.

    When i open if from the ElementClient. it keeps freezing at character selection screen...

    If it worked before when opened through the launcher, it shouldn't effect the game itself as you are simply launching the game directly. If you are experiencing any other issues such as game freeze and crash, I'd suggest sending a ticket here: http://support.perfectworld.com/

    Most of us thought this was common knowledge, since that is how we have always multi cliented to test stuff. Thank you ChaoticShelly
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    its easier to just pin elementclient.exe to your taskbar. no desktop space used and you can still jsut click an icon lol

    Thanks again for the info.

    Here is my slightly edited version:

    First restart your PC and network hardware.

    1) Go ahead and start one instance of the game through the regular game launcher menu as you would normally.
    2) Now for the second game client, go to the drive you installed Perfect World International on. i.e. C://, D:// etc
    3) Go to the Perfect World Entertainment Folder
    4) Go to the Perfect World International Folder
    5) Go to the Element folder
    6) Double Click elementclient.exe and you are done.

    By doing so you will be able to multi-client same as before, without experiencing any problems.

    You can make a shortcut to that file if you want and put it on your Desktop or other easy to access location.

    I feel the same way. I always wonder why they always used the patcher... Then again in my 2 years and a half of playing this game I realized that common sense was lacking... a lot.

    Same thing over here :( It won't start from my desktop shortcut or the launcher. Any fix?

    Does it start normally if you go through the folder?

    my first client starts normally through my desktop shortcut. But if I want to get on my second client, it gives me the message screenshotted above >><

    That error message says: Sorry, you are missing an essential game file. Please verify or reinstall your client.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    Veryfi was the first thing ive done...doesnt work for me. Think need to download new client and reinstall all.

    Have u tryed to open elementclient.exe from Folder or u use shorcut on taskbar ?
    Ive got a bug if i try to open elementcleint.exe from the taskbar shorcut that ive made.
    Try to open directly from folder or make shorcut from elementclient.exe and pase it on ur descom...maybe that help b:bye

    you DO understand multi-clienting is for opening a character on a SEPERATE account. If you are trying to open a second character on THE SAME ACCOUNT YOU ARE CURRENTLY LOGGED ON, the screen will freeze and you will not be allowed to continue.

    Also, even if you do suceed in opening a multi-client, ONLY ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO GAIN EXP WHILE PLAYING! The multi-client was designed for those who wish to RUN A CATSHOP WHILE STILL ENJOYING SOME PLAYTIME - NOT SO YOU CAN USE YOU 101bm TO POWER LEVEL YOUR 35psi !

    I only mention this because some of the posts seem to be from those who may not fully understand multi-clienting

    ...not that I fully understand it either, but I do take the time to read the updates, most people don't bother.

    Not true....

    From the new muli-client rules link:
    You may only play on two characters at the same time. They can both level up OR one can level up while the other is a vendor alt OR both can be vendor alts.

    you can only play 1 char in one account...

    so it means you can play with 2 chars that one in one account and the other is in the other account...

    this is what it means...


    if you log with char to one account and then try to log to another char in the same acount..that account will be closed and you have to log again...you cant play with 2 chars in the same account...

    for those who have problems,try to open the launcher-->choose no and update

    it should bring you no problems
