When do seekers get good?

I keep hearing that they're insane DD's, but most fare better than them in that field. I've also heard that they're great tanks, but without vortex that just isn't going to happen. They also seem to solo pretty slow.

Now, I could be wrong! I only played seeker until 72 with a 3 STR 2 DEX per level build. I personally enjoyed the game play, but it seems that everyone outclasses them.

In PVP for instance. You can't really do much with just one stun. So again, it feels like everyone else has the upper hand in this field too. Even the mystics get those skill(s) that make them take no damage and what not.

I'm probably coming off as a noob, and I am. I just want a class to play solo with and I was hoping to give seeker another chance. Does this class shine later on, or is this as good as it's going to get?

I've played psychic, assassin, wizard, barb, and blademaster all up to the 70's. I know it's not much, but I did it all before FF and BH existed. So, I know how to play them. Will seeker ever be able to compete with any of those classes?

I'm debating rolling a mystic.

Most classes in their 70s are never what you'd want them to be. Some start to "shine" a bit sooner than others, but in this game Alot of classes don;t shine till they have reached celestial levels. The offensive/defensive addons is what changes the advantages of other classes. And can ultimately change the food chain fo what it use to be in the 70s.

I wouldn't consider seekers a primary solo class, but they are very nice DD in squad play. In squads, their vortex makes them great pullers and they destroy groups of mobs rather quickly. In squads, they will usually benefit from the addition of squad buffs like bell, bp, cleric buffs, and barb buffs. When it comes to squad play and/or killing massive amounts of mobs, this is the class to play.

They do have the ability to solo grind large groups of melee mobs quickly, but that's probably their best solo capability. Some bosses will interrupt vortex, so you can't rely on that. Their regular stance chains are more of a debuff process that can help with squad damage support. You do have the occasional spike hits with gemini slash and maybe arme nier, but it's not as effective as high APS DD when it comes to soloing bosses. They can solo, but not it's not the best use of the class. They can tank, but holding aggro is not always guaranteed.

If you're looking for a class more designed to solo things, sins, bms, venos, and mystics are some of the usual choices.

My bm used to be my main and currently has high APS, but I personally have more fun with the seeker class. My BM is now my farmer for nirvana and other instances.

i think seekers r 'ok' throughout, they will get better at level 100.

against other classes like sins, i used to think damn...... sins will still be the strongest. they can auto attack u and kill u within the first stun. but at level 100, u get ur sage skills, get more defence in ur armour so u can take more hits.

i was fightin Brawsin on my server, he's 5.0 i think, we was both fully buffed (minus bm buff) and both charmed, both have 2 nv piece armour and hh99.

wivout a charm, i think sins would be more in advantage. but wiv charm it put me in a better position cos he wasn't able to pass my defence and charm wivout 3 sparking.

in the end i won 2-0, was a great fight so it shows seekers CAN be a solo pvp class. just seekers can only win toward the end gear range. seekers can't really get 5.0 so need to rely on defence. i will get 4 nirvanna pieces soon, seekers can get better defence. whereas a sin can't really get nirvanna wrists or footwear, they tend to stick to hh99 for the extra -0.5 interval. if they have the nirvanna wrists and footwear, they r actually 'weaker'.

so i guess seekers have the advantage towards the end there. i think the problem wiv seekers is that there is not many good swords around, just recycled bm sword material!!!

I can't speak much for PvP, but for PvE I found a huge jump at 75 when you are able to use Herb Yuanxiao. I can maintain my level 5 Vortex constantly now which makes for much improved DD capability and also tanking for things like BHs. With BP I can also solo Phoenix Valley which is great exp when hypered at my level and also a fun challenge so see how large a pull I can manage. I'm also starting to max alot more skills because of the extra spirit which means I'm also seeing higher damage outputs while not using Vortex. Personally I think Seeker starts to get better after 59 and Vortex, and then comes into its own post-75

Lol same. Seekers just aren't a click and watch class... But if you actually play them right they do fine. That also goes for the people who QQ about their "lack" of control-skills... Except against clerics where I would wish I could stunlock to stop them from friggin' healing I never had a problem with that either. BM's are easy even and they are the masters of stun aren't they?

thats because BMs never get close enough to stun seekers lol. i still say we need an anti stun though. a better one then sage unfetter. a sin can hit youwith tackle slash from stealth or an archer with aim low and in group pvp that leaves you pretty vulnerable to Bms and sins stunning you. dont get me wrong i have a lot of fun playing a seeker because you actually have to use your skills and put some thought into it which is a refreshing change of pace from my sin. and my seeker hasnt hit 100 yet to get some awesome gear but im still planning on useing a lot of anti stun pots in TW

I like my seeker better than any of my other toons. My cleric second best. i have died less on my seeker than any of the others.
