OP'd?

ok so, after just soloing florafeng, cadaver, and geezlot at lvl 30 :S i realized Mystics may be just a *tad* OP'd.. tho it may have something to do with the gear (the "reward" Sirius set, 2 days left on the timer, and the mag sword from the supply crate) As this is my first mystic, i wonder if i can look forward to more of this type of thing further down the road.. i don't recall being able to ever solo any 'elite' boss type mob with my veno and magmite. Also, what should i be puttin points into? i've been kinda followin my veno's build method, 4 mag 1 vit and the occasional 4 mag 1 str when i level up, current spec is;

Vit 25 (+6 from armor bonus)
Str 21 (+1 from armor bonus)
Mag 122 (+3 from armor)
Dex 7 (pretty much untouched)

I havent maxxed out my skills yet, most have a few more levels to go yet, but now that i can crazystone to get the spirit, and feed exp to my genie to stick to this level range for a bit while i stockpile rough fur's and oils and such for my crafting later, they'll likely get there pretty soon-ish (coin permitting of course)

Now, seein as i just finished culti, i was thinkin of trying to solo my own FB (maybe a trial run first tho).... naaah maybe not lol.

i soloed my fb19 boss when my lvl was 19 used alot of my charm but i was able to do it also the bosses that i was able to solo until now ( lvl 48 ) are :

Charr

Florafang

Farng

Shade Eido

Yansheng, Hirudini Barbarian

Krixxix the Dark Adalwolf Lord ( was hard )

and guess what i also soloed ( Gouf, Aerox Chief ) useing the pet bug ( attacking from upside )good thing he dident move while i was attacking at all

all fbs19 bosses

all those bosses i soloed for my quest except the other fbs that i done just for fun :P

i am useing pure mag build

Mystics can solo most of all the quest mini bosses......Then as they get higher, aren't too bad doing some FB bosses.

In my opinion Mystics are not that overpowered, just goood spetialized.. For all that has a questionmark in his lvl range mystic is a real thread... Summons don't get a dmg reduce on this kind of mobs, which really makes them strong against bosses.. Sure, its not that bad, as a 5APS DD, but there are places, lets take Delta for an example, where a mystic can do pretty good dmg.
I still have another region in mind, but didn't have the time to try out my theories in praxis, so I'm not yet telling about it..

The Mystics heal is also not bad.. If bosses doesn't have a Debuff or need BB a mystic can replace a cleric(not saying that I would love that, but in times like this, clerics are a rare good )

I have a 66 Mystic with lvl 60 rep gear and Garnet shards. I have the TT 60 magic sword, and a 9 Mag 1 str build with a little vit added ( my hp is 2100 ).

Yesterday I went into fb 59 to do my divine quests just after I leveled ( just in case :P)

I got my *** kicked ( I may be doing it wrong ) so where is the OPness?

Btw, I'm not a pleveler and most my skills are maxed.

Any ideas on tactics here?

Only thing you did wrong is if you went in there alone
Noone at that lvl can do BH51 alone..

First problem: Your summon is much weaker than a venos pet. Yes it does a lot of dmg, but it has much less def and hp.
Second Problem: Wyv has a debuff. So you wont get him done as a Mystic for a very looong time. I even doubt that I can do him, because of that debuff.

For myself, I didn't powerlvl my char too and I did spend a lot of monney to have most of my skills maxed out. So a mystic is not really OP, but you can survive a lot, lets say, you pulled agro by acident(should not happen, but just in case). The boss diedn't onehit you, but did hell lot of dmg. Now the mystic can show, whats in him. Your heal should be able to fill up all of your hp. So thats what for an outsider looks OP. You can heal nearly as fast, as a charm.
Another situation, ok, not at lvl 66, but in the 90s may be. You go to Chrono2, all mobs there are lvl 150 (Questionmark-lvl). For a Mystic thats great, less HP but same dmg from pet. So pull out Sum4, let her do one AoE, all she gets goes down instantly. Same thing, it looks ok, but it is just one case out of many.. So in my opinion, in some spetial areas a mystic looks kinda OP, but in most cases he is just a DD among many. Don't hope too much to be the OP clase, at least not as long as there are 5 APS..

Same thing with duels. Duel with a Cleric/Wiz: Mostly it looks the same sceme for me. Spark/let pet stun - Natures Vengance - Absorb Soul - dead. in the early 90s you can kill nearly all pure mag mage classes till R8. Looks OP, but lets say you face a Sin. Now even a 8-10 lvl weaker sin can kill you in 1-2 hits. You cann't kill, what you cann't see.

So only in some situations you will be better in some others you will be weaker.. I would say its balanced.

I wasn't trying to do bosses, only mobs for my Divine Quests.

Anyway I had 2 major problems there:

I can't kite mobs ( no room for that, lol )

Mana drain is a killer there. I had to kill one and use pots like hell and still had to wait to refill before I tried the second :P

I felt so powerless in there, I flew to Swamp of the wraiths and took my vengeance on every mob I could find. b:chuckle

Wow... Soloing a couple mini bosses at low lvl does not make a class OP... I soloed all those bosses at lvl on my veno too, are venos OP because they can solo a mini boss that just tosses a weak poison? And as for the build try not to add any more dex. You can add more vit if you want but try to cap it around somewhere at 50. The rest should be obvious. And don't really expect to be soloing a lot 'elite' bosses later on because mystic pets are far squishier than veno pets.

I don't think Mystics are OP'ed, mine is level 63 and the mana drain is a killer. Maybe at 75 when I can start using those nice mana food it will get better.

Also the pet is weak on hit points and defence, veno's pet is much sturdier. Mytics are really just a jack of a few trades and they can be fun to play but I think a Veno is more powerful and as stated the mellee classes are much more powerful at high levels. Maybe if you get max -chan then it will help.

Don't get me wrong, We totally rock in pvp and pve! But we still don't have aps.b:surrender

Getting max -chan would be more harmful than helpful because at a certain point you end up having to sacrifice defenses for it. There's a max channel wiz on my server who channels BT about as gush xD But what's the point if he dies just as quickly? :b

I suppose your right VoItaire. I realize that its just sins that can really abuse the aps, yet I suppose being an arcane armor class in pvp can kinda jade you when it comes to the subject.

I have seen myself getting better at surviving aps classes as my gear/refines slowly begin to rise. I'm not there yet, not by a long shot.

But as they say, "the path to conquest is an infinite journey."

Yeah, bms aren't too hard even with aps, all you really have to do is keep them away from you and with knockback, and seal/freeze skills it isn't that hard. Gotta remember aps isn't really a pvp build. However if they can manage to pin you down and you have no way of getting out of it it's pretty much over x.x

My absolute favorite thing to do is to knock BM's back right after they aoe stun or use there dg. Making it so they can't use there amped up aoe to try and 1 shot people.

I've already had soooo many BM's whispering me hate messages because of this. b:chuckle

lol yeah and it's absolutely hilarious when barbs try to arma and I either use spark to resist or if they stunned me I just use expel and they waste half their hp and mana where all I have to do is knockback then nature's and they're dead.(Unless charmed ofc) Or if they're absolutely horrible(Like idk.... _Ra_) and their arma can't even break trhough sally's shield. xD

One of my favorite genie skills, it makes you immune to phys dmg, but silences you as a drawback, but you can at least still run while your pet pew pews at them unless they're smart enough to kill it. xD It's awesome for when a sin or bm stuns you. And if they silence you, then you can use it and it won't over write the silences, which means when their silence runs out you still have the phys immunity buff. b:victory

i was thinking about puting the pvp shield of so u can even buff or heal someone htat is attacking u, and try to use it on pvp ans see if it seals the othe guy! uve tried it o.o?

instead of using chihyu to tank the mobs.... pull one at a time, and body tank them yourself with salvation shield on. make sure you have falling petals on too, and if shield wears off, recast it. but it shouldnt before one mob is dead. This is how i solo mobs in dungeons, and it goes alot quicker than having to heal your chihyu.

Well I personally don't use the tactic in pvp since I really don't like having my buff filters off, and I'm more defensive, and on those off times that I turn my buff filters off to buff a friend or someone and forget to put them back on for some reason I must just be really unlucky, but everytime that has happened my next pvp situation is against at least 2 melees(usually) sins and then I try to expel and it goes on one of the sins >.< (happened when I spawned in first cube room the other day lol but they were low lvl so their dmg wasn't enough) But especially being a healing class, having buff filters off can be dangerous.

almost anybody with pots or the ability to heal can solo their lower lvl bosses.
