ok well i created my seeker like 4 days ago and well its level 35 now and i like its flashy skills and its ability to kill faster than any melee character ive ever used....but one problum i keep having is should i get R8 or nirvana gear or mixed it up with both? Another problum i keep hearing nd reading on forums tht seekers arnt meant for PVE nd its hard for them to get PT for nirvana runs is this true? Last thing also is should i get HP shards or what can of shards should i get? And should i work my way to R9 or is it a waste of time for a seeker to get R9?
(OF COURSE WHEN R9 COMES OUT FOR SEEKER NOT RIGHT NOW)

After doing my fair share of research, I think r8 (if you can manage to get the rep) is the cheaper option if you plan to get r9 later. My reasons for wanting r9 is the zerk claymore (big vortex damage) and the set bonuses that add atk/def lvl, since it adds on to the seeker's "natural" addition of both.

You could actually get into Nirvana squads with a seeker if you have a core group of nirvana friends that will let you, but to be on the safe side, I'd recommend at least having a dedicated nirvana char (barb/high APS barb, cleric, high APS bm, high APS sin, high APS archer, or veno). Nirvana is just one of those instances you should leave to classes that can perform better as it is geared towards classes that excel or support in single target damage. With all this being said, a seeker may be able to be a nirvana staple one day when enough people test around with their northern sky -20 def level debuff and shatter debuffs. I haven't done much testing with it as my bm is usually needed, but it would be nice if seekers make the cut one day because I like playing my seeker more.

While the seeker usually cannot get Nirv squads easily, they are highly wanted for delta (which I enjoy a lot b:laugh), and I'm starting to see more and more delta groups forming on my server lately. In comparison to Nirvana, this instance is geared towards classes that can do heavy AoE damage.

When it comes to sharding, I would stick to HP shards until you can afford and decide which of the expensive ones you want to use. Some examples include, but are not limited to, Vit + 10 stones or Jade of steady defense (+2 def level).

I'm not sure where you heard Seekers aren't meant for PvE, but I for one completely disagree. When it comes to AoE situations like FC, delta, and various BH100s, Seekers perform quite nicely, especially when buffed with bloodpaint and other damage/defense enhancements. Seekers have pretty nice support debuffs that help your squad deal more damage since they manipulate atk/def lvls and increase damage based on type. In fact, some of the seeker debuffs are the longest lasting debuffs compared to the other classes. If you like the class as much as I do, you should definitely develop it. Even if you can't get any Nirvana done, there is always the possibility of "farming" delta.

Wherever there is a grup of mobs, or a group of characters. The seeker outshines the rest. Nirvana is just one instance. And if you plan to go rank 8/9 its not like you'll absolutelly need to farm it. And even if you do, you wont finish it in 8-10 mins like a full aps squads, but its not like you could'nt totally do it at all.

Its really strange in that since the Earth guard were introduced, I have never seen even one Seeker in Nirvana. I've seen Mystics in my squads a number of times however, although admittedly more for their support skills (healing) than damage. I understand though that their Craig Lord pet does insane one on one damage to bosses and the like for the 20 seconds or so that it is out. b:victory

As far as seekers in nirvana I have been in 3 already {just hit 100 yesterday} and I'm hearing great remarks about the seeker in squad. My first run everyone died multiple times against the boss that spawns the white and black feather mobs, yet who stayed alive? The seeker. Not only that but our -def and -attck debuff we have. Kills the boss much faster. Don't count out the seeker from anything. You can go all aps in a squad and switch out a cleric for a seeker. :)

    Rank 8 is much cheaper.

However, after seeing a certain 100+ seeker on my server with +10 G15 Nirvy Dual Blades with +20 atk level bonus on them, I'd have to say that getting a nice recast of Nirvana would technically be better.

It's up to you and how much money/time you're willing to spend honestly.
