what happened to rare taming?

I've been away for a little over a year-year and a half, and some things have changed since I've been away. But I've noticed that no one camps rare spawns anymore? At least not on HT. I was flying along and flew right into the pig by accident the other day, same with the frog, coincidentally. Both times on alternate characters, so I just flew on. But I was curious why things have changed this much? Especially with so many guides on it, rare taming should be extremely easy. Has a new way for venos to make serious cash been introduced or something?

Venos suck for money making nowadays, with the APS craze and the sales making it more efficient to merchant all day.
Also, perhaps all the venomancers finally got a life outside of the game and stopped sitting at a computer 24/7 waiting for the mobs to respawn.

First of all, most venomancers nowadays have acquired the Legendary pets and therefore they don't need to use any other pet. At least, they believe they don't need to. The truth is, you don't need any other pet besides those two but if you want to get the best potential out of your venomancer, you will use a variety of pets.

Secondly, there are several pets that outperform the rare ones. Ranged pets can outperform the Kowlin. Glacial Walker can outperform the Shaodu Cub/Armored Bear. Dark Wanderer/Varicose Scorpion outperform any other rare pet you might consider as good DD. It's sad but true, most venomancers have these few particular pets and therefore don't opt to get anything else. In conclusion. rare pets don't sell as much as they used to. Another reason may be, a lot of them already have the rare pets and therefore there's no point in buying more. I, myself, have all of the rares I was interested in acquiring (all 'cept the puppy), despite the fact that out of them I only use the Kowlin now and the Windwalking Piggy whenever I kill mobs in the air.

Last, rare pet taming for money is insufficient now. You're better off merchanting. My best friend was a regular rare pet taming for two years but now even she stopped going to the spawns like she used it. She'd rather spend her time checking AH and merchanting than waiting for spawns/trying to figure out the new hours.

A lot of rare pets were also caught to make the more desirable all class pets. The desirable all class pets these days are not ones that can be tamed and crafted but the ones that come out of boxes and packs.

In that length of time, about 1094 of each rare pet has been added to the market. That's alot!

Yes, you don't NEED to use a rare pet. My Gnome may have crappy pdef, but his high mdef and evasion makes him a pretty good tank when combined with the accuracy reduction of Befuddling Mist. Also, he's a great DD.

You don't know what you're talking about. Venos are still viable in just about every aspect of the game and are capable of making about as much coin outside of Nirvana as in if well equipped. Aps craze is as bad as it is good. They tend to totally ruin BH Metal among other things. There's some things my veno can do that my Assassin can't touch.

Please show a video of someone doing a trophy mode appropriate for their level with just aps, and no AoE.

Sorry , but no , venos are still a very strong class , and certainly can make good coin.

Any class can , but they need to know how.

Actually, I do know what I'm talking about. I was referring to the common view of venomancers nowadays in regard to money making, not my personal opinion. Do I agree that venomancers are useless? **** no, why would I have stuck with my character if I did?

Of course you are correct in everything you just mentioned, regardless of public opinion. I know I am great at making money, and I quite enjoy playing my character. Then again, this is a game to me, not a job, so I play for fun. b:chuckle

But, people do often seem swayed by public view of venomancer capabilites. It's a shame., as we have so much to offer, and cheaper than a Government Hooker!
