Seeker Magic

Has anyone looked at using magic in a seeker build? I know the skills are based on strength, but some of the skills require a significant amount of mana. When I am running my vortex it would be nice to have a larger mana pool to draw from so I have less chance of dropping the vortex because I am out of mana. Also, chaining skills together seems to pull my mana down faster than my charm can replenish it. Another option is to use turquoise shards, but that seems kind of silly when I can get better HP or Mdef with those sockets. Anyone have any thoughts about using magic to increase Seeker mana storage?

    No.

Go get a nice MP hat with some +MP bonuses and maybe a couple of sockets to put MP shards into and switch it out with your helmet when you decide to set up Vortex.

Statting magic will just make you kill slower, and ultimately end up using more MP than you did before.

I prefer capes. They're naturally useless since they usually don't have defense adds like a helmet. Not like you need an interval cape when you're using vortex.

Yeah, now that I think of it, an MP cape would probably be better.

Point is, don't waste stat points on magic, get gear with +MP.

No, just no. Keep your stats for str, vit and dex where they are needed.

With a plat HP charm, MP pots and ~1400 MP I can perma-vortex at level 1 of the skill, and can perma-vortex level 2 of the skill with Herb Yux. Plat HP charm is going for ~1m atm on Dreamweaver and lasts for quite a while so it's a good investment imo.

I'm not sure what level your seeker is, but you should be able to handle the mana drain problems at least at 75+ when you can use herb yuanxiao. If you're worried about vortex dropping, make sure your mp is full before you attempt to use vortex or your mp will get drained too quickly for upkeep. My seeker has been able to keep up a level 10 vortex near lvl 90 using only herbs and having only about 1700 mp. Your charm should only serve as a kind of safeguard, not your primary source of mp for vortex.

I personally think it's a waste to allocate points into magic or shard with mp adds, when herbs can get the job done once you get the hang of its timing. I would rather use the stat points to increase my damage or something and would rather use the shard slots to increase my hp. Take my word or not, but I've done a full delta with just herbs and no charms. If you can, try to seperate your mp recovery items into two categories: vortex mp and skill chaining mp. For vortex, I use herb yuanxiao. For regular skill chaining stuff, I use mp pots that I get as drops and some various free mp pots that you get from the emissaries by trading in honor items from the divine contract quests. I'm not rich enough to afford many charms, so I use the best of the game's resources b:chuckle.

I don't understand why there would be mana problems with vortex past level 75, but I can almost bet it's usually because one forgets to have their mp near or at full before using vortex. If you really have to, go for the MP shards instead of wasting stat points on magic... b:surrender
