Just curious how many other people may or may not be noticing players still in their Elder Blessing armor at mid levels. Because I've been noticing it to an almost frightening extent during BH recently. Especially on Seekers, Mystics, and...people billing themselves as 'tanks'. And it's...well...rather disturbing. b:shocked

I've seen 8X attempting to seriously run dungeons while wearing 2X NPC gears.
So... I'm honestly not too surprised with this. It's what happens when you can get your levels at an obscene speed.0 -

actually the newbie gear is pretty damn good for a level 1 toon and my cleric was using it until getting the rank 1 gear and a couple npc pieces. correct me if im wrong here, but the noob gear is probably about equivalent to NPC 6x gear for some classes - so its actually not surprising at all considering the game can actually be played with npc gear. ijs.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

my level 64 at the time sin was stealing aggro on rankar from the barb, using a npc bow with basic arrows 0.o

@Gigglesnort: Probably. But that doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Especially Leeroys with AoE skills that end up being scraped off the floor way too often for anyone's good... DX

@Baalbak: I can see it working for a Cleric. If for no other reason than in a good squad, a smart Cleric should seldom be taking hits outside of the occasional AoE.
But for classes that have little choice BUT to take hits (and Mystics, by grace of their pets durability being influenced significantly by their own stats), the damage reduction from NPC 6x armor should significantly outclass any bonuses offered by the Elder gear. Especially when buffed. Not to mention seeing someone in to-level NPC gear tends to send off vibes of 'I'm not in the best armor, but at least I'm trying. =D' better than someone in gear meant to make levels 1-30 easier. >.>;;;
I dunno. Maybe I'm just overly critical due to waiting around for (insert a significant length of time here) waiting for a 'tank' to show up, then having to tank bosses anyways because they can neither hold aggro nor take the hits. X_X0 -

I used the corona armor on my seeker intill about lvl 30 odd then sarted getting the lower ranked armour and few other bits here and there
upto around lvl 30 to 40 odd the armour is still prety good
But i started a Noobie archer up 2 days ago and there was no Corona armor has this stoped now ????[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Next time you do a BH, check everyone's gear out.
You'll find a Sin with: Legendary or TT daggers that are up to level, sharded, and possibly refined, white, one star, unrefined, no socket armor that is eithe rup to level or 10-40 levels too low, evasion ornaments, or a mix of that and quest rewards.
You'll find with barbs: TT axes that are 10 levels too low or worse, no shards, no refine, about to hit 0 durability, white, unrefined, onestar, no socket armor and ornaments that is 30-50 levels too low, and possibly a quest reward or three mixed in.
You'll find with venos: The same as Barbs, only it's a white, one star, unrefined, no socket magic weapon that's like 30 levels too low.
Sometimes, you'll run into a 70+ Barb with the lvl 50 stash axes, veno with the stash magic sword, cleric with the stash magic sword, or BM with the stash axes. Why? Because of the proc on the axe/channeling on the sword. >_> So lame.
This tells you that either: 1) It's the person's first character, they have NO coins, no income, and no idea what Auction House is 2) It's an alt that they don't give a crud about and they're playing because they're bored off their face 3) As mentioned, they power leveled and spent their 60m budget for skills/weapons/armor on hypers, oracles, and entry fees into FCC. >_>
My BM has a complete set of TT70 HA, and a partial set of TT70 LA, working on getting the rest. My Sin has rank chest, Blood Moon bracers, TT70 boots, legendary leggings, and legendary ornaments. My Archer shares the blood moon bracers, TT90 boots, TT90 wrists (gonna use for souledge), rank chest, rank leggings, legendary crossbow, TT80G bow... I still use 6x ornaments at lv. 9x but the only difference is it's -9% chan and +5'd. b:embarrass

People definitely underestimate those gears though. If it wasn't for rank 1 I'd probably use them till around level 45[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Heh, I just got rid of the last piece (the wrists). This gear is really not bad at all. What freaked me out is the duration, I was afraid it would expire leaving me naked.0

My mystic is still using the "FB"19 weap and lvl5 armor as primary gear. gets the job done at heads and thats whats most important

scary ... but im not surprised... the armor is pretty good for level 1 gear, and probably can last until 30 until you can get rank 1 armor but ... if you see anyone wearing it past 40 then id run. xD[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Nah. Mold gear makes sense to be wearing for more than 10 levels since it normally has boosted stats or bonuses that make it worthwhile.
Now if you were wearing level 53 NPC legs at your level... that'd be a problem.
Capes are another exception since all they give is evasion. The only reasons for wearing a higher level cape is if it has better bonuses, to put higher shards in it, or so you can refine it for more HP. Personally, I used a level 37 3* cape on some of my chars til they got to 60 or so purely because it had nicer bonuses than the other capes I found/made along the way.0 -

No, usually, they don't.
Barb can't hold aggro for ****, Sin, BM, or even Veno will pull aggro, get oneshot, and then the squad goes 'oh ****, what do we do?', and everything goes downhill.
Then, they either need to find someone 9x or 10x to come rescue them, they QQ about lost exp, or just ragequit the squad. >_>
I'm tanking these instances on my Sin. At 68, I'm a partial Vit build. If a 65 Sin pulls aggro on a pure dex build and dies, I'm'a NOT care. Well, for one, I've got more -int, so unless they are sparking as often as I am, they aren't going to anyway, even pure dex vs partial vit.
And now at level 71, I find myself pulling aggro off level 79 barbs. And it was brought up that 'omg, you're SO gonna die on Glutt/Drake/Zimo/Qianji/Ofo', and... Um... no. Just no. I let the barb tank Glutt last night, until the end... Glut barely hurts. I tanked Drake very easily. Haven't done Qianji yet, or Ofo. Zimo was a piece of cake. Even if the cleric is a nub, as long as they BB, I can survive. I even have a self puri dagger, so they can even be lazy.101 Sage Sin*/Archer

You are right, there are no pdef orns with -chan. In PWCALC they show a Necklace that is pdef with -6chan, but apparently is not available in this version 0
