Pure Mag vs Vit Builds
I know that while summon lvls inprove their stats, your stats do as well. So I was wondering if going vit build over pure magic build would give a significant bonus to pet's hp (Mainly chihyu). Could someone please tell me?

Just go pure magic....10hp per vit level doesn't help you or your pet much.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Pet stats are based on your gear, so going vit or mag doesn't affect it at all0

I'm pure int and still not enough of mp. Are you seriously with vit build? I'm furiuos that skills cost thousands of mp... I remember when cons of wizard was high mp usage, but nowadays mystic's skills costs double more... NOT FAIR! b:shocked0

Yes it is Fair. Every class has its pros and cons. mystic pros : awesome class, heals, everything what u need (almost) cons : Huge mana draining..
Imagine a mystic with very low mana requirements, it would be OP. This is how PWI makes a balance between the classes..0 -

Actually, adding to your vit/mag stats does improve the hp/mp of your summon as well. I cannot tell you exactly how much since I do not have enough extra points on my mystic to test it. =/0 -
each point in vit = 5 hp for your pets.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I replied to the 7th topic on the 1st page of mystic forums, and got reported for necro. Plz save mystic forums.0 -
Honestly, I only support the Vit Build for Mystics if you can't afford good gear at low levels and if you are playing solo most of the time (so you will need HP/survivability because there will be nobody there to help you/save you). Even as a Pure Mag build though, if you are careful you can do just fine, even with little HP at the beginning.
I usually rely on my heals. I'm almost Pure Mag with 12 Vit points and the rest were in Mag and Str (as much as needed). My gear gives me a lot of Mag+, MP+ but as well as HP+ and my heals as so powerful that I can survive just fine. Well, that has its own drawback of course (no heal -> dead) but the only times I've really died hard was when I had too many melee mobs on me. Otherwise I survive just fine.
I'm not against Vit Build but I strongly recommend the Pure Mag one for Mystics. My reasons are:
-You need high low base (and high magic in general) to be a better healer for yourself and your pet. While you can depend on high refines of the weapon having a lot of Mag too, helps a lot (besides Mag points improve you overall base damage but weapons have gaps).
-You need a good MP pool, especially before lvl75 when you get to use those Herb pots. Even if I had tons of MP (lvl82 right now with 9500MP/9300 -depending on which ornaments I have on-) I still needed an MP charm prior lvl75..that is maybe because I duo the whole game with my soulmate though. Being a healer/debuffer/puller/DDer all at the same times eats quite a lot of MP XD
-At later levels refines of armour will give you much more HP than Vit points (yes Vit build AND good gear will give you even more HP but I don't see that a necessity).
Like I said, I am not against the Vit Build, but I highly support the Pure Mag build for Mystics. Besides, even at endgame Cleric is still necessary so it's not like you will have to solo heal all the time.

If you complain or use Mana drain as an excuse, quit your Mystic and re-roll something else. The only big drain is when spam healing and when you set up, shell + res buff + devil + heal on devil. Thats it, if you got pure mag and can't handle that bit of mp drain, you didn't roll right or you literally suck.0

Even if adding some vit increases the pet's hp, pure mag increases the amount you heal. I don't think the trade off for vit is worth it, though if you feel like you need some vit for your own survivability, go ahead.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks to Silvy for the awesome sig!0 -
ok let me say this... Im pure magic mystic (base 3 vit) all items +10 except my chest. cleric + barb buffed (no BM), i tanked beast boss in 3-3 for a good 2 mins (he just didnt wanna get off of me) w/o BB just self heal and petali. Why should you go vit build when pure mag can do so well?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I find nothing wrong with pure mag builds and nothing wrong with vit builds.
if your vit build, make sure you put enough points into magic, and possibly refine your weapon high.
vit builds are great if your not going to be like the person posted above me (:P) with most +10 gears. if you are an average player, and not planning on getting your gears past +5 (like myself), a vit build may benefit for you.
if you do, on the other hand, have great refines, a vit build will just be wasting your points.
although, a pure magic build can pull off decent HP even without high refines (with citrine shards, anyways). as long as your HP is enough for your playstyle, then by all means go pure magic.
and on that note, which ever build is better for your playstyle, then go with it. you dont need other mystics or other peoples approval. i dont care if people bash my vit build, i love it, i always have loved a lot of HP on my characters, even in other MMO's ive played.
but i really hate it when i see a pure magic player walkin around with 2k hp ._. (yes, the lvl 90+ ones). at least do some refines, or add some points in vit if your going to be going around like that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

i totally agree with you. Since mystics are very similar to venos (not exactly like them!) ill tell you that my veno with same gear as my mystic was vit build. she had around 150 vit w/o gear... it was awesome to have 15k hp buffed (AA)... but she hit like a girl... when my mystic was around lv 90ish and she got more magic than my veno i laughed so hard and cried in the same time... i bought a reset note and dropped 100 vit into magic after over 1 year of this build... she lost 1.2k hp (still has over 13k buffed) but her dmg is now decent.
The vit build was ok before i got the chance to refine ( im talking about veno here but can easily apply to mystic too). I remember before i TWed on veno i was magic build... 1st time i started to think about vit build was around lvl 90 because i kept dying on Belial... 1st step was to get enough hp to survive his hits unbuffed. Then i wanted over 10k buffed... and that was when my refines were around +5 and before i got end game gear.
All in all depends what you intend to do with your character. Pve ? pvp? How high you can refine, how much money you have to spend on shards?
Low cost = vit build (3 vit 1 str 6 mag every 2 lvls) - at lvl 100 you will have 150 vit from stat points which for a mystic =1500 HP more than pure magic (in pve is not really worth it, with a magic build you could hit the mob harder and finish him off before he hits u)
Average cost = medium refines, HP shards, pure magic.
High costs= +10 refines, JoSD, pure magic.
My 2 cents.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

wow thats a lot of HP for a veno. i can only dream for that much xD
my veno has a light armor build with 3 vit base. with small refines (+4) she has about ... 5.7k hp i think.
my mystic has 100 vit base (not as much vit as the build u were talking about though), and by level 90 she passed my veno in hp, and she had more magic attack than my veno (wearing the same weapon of course) xDbut she hit like a girl[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Actually, an NV>AS combo kills pretty much anything at least up to 6x, so a vit biuld isn't necessary for survabilly, even with crappy gear..
I don't care much about the damage, and, let's say 50 points in mag won't make much difference against bosses or in your overall MP pool, I guess full mag is good on PvP for maximum damage, but I don't care much about that.
I went vit (capped at 65) because... well, I'm used to put points in vit from the time was a barb, I guess xP... In the actual gaming, these builds won't make any great changes, since most of your performance depends on gear and skill of the player0 -

Totally agree. I'm pure magic myself with about 5.8k hp. And there's often times I wish I had much more.
I just love hitting for those high numbers too much to go Vit, using absorb soul on another clothe is just plain awesome!YuiYuiYuiYuiYuiYuiYuiYuiYuiYui0 -

I don't care about my damage at all as a healer, if I can deal considerable amount of damage, that is a bonus.
I mostly care for good healing. This is why I use wands that offer high low-end magic attack (though right now my Mystic has a magic sword). Having mag points also helps your low-end magic attack since mag points don't make a gap between your low-end and high-end.
That is my main argument and this is why I don't go against Vit builds of anything. I just stated which build I highly recommend because that worked the best for me and my case.
I had Vit Build on my Venomancer for most of her levels, I restated a few times and went from 75 Vit cap to 50 then to 30 (that is as I eventually got better gear that offered more HP to me). Vit Builds can be great (and my best friend has a Venomancer with insane HP) but it's just that I prefer pure mag or semi pure mag for healer type classes. My Cleric though, has 33 Vit (I am going to restat to 23 however) so..whatever works for everyone! XD[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

Do you steal aggro when you are the DD?
One of the reasons that I put some points in vit is also that I steal aggro a lot, which is strange, cosidering my damage isn't that high, yesterday I got on a squad with a psy and a sin as DD, and I was still stealing aggro, does that happen to you in higher levels?
And I see your points, I also go as supportive a lot, or just heal the others when the cleric is busy, but there is always that one mob that goes after you when you heal the person he was attacking, or as I said, if I steal aggro for some crazy reason, sometimes I forget to heal myself or control the pet in order to heal other people, and to tell the truth, it's hard to find a reliable tanker at bh51/59, so in my case, I preffer the benefits of surviving 2 or 3 more hits, even if it costs me some of my damage/heals...0 -

For the mobs, you are right. I have to actually figure out more ways to protect myself in those situations as Mystic. I rarely use Salvation in squad (usually nobody needs it) so my panic buttons are limited compared to the ones I have found/discovered on Cleric.
I did die a lot as Cleric the first levels as well. Eventually I learnt combinations and stuff and 3rd spark is often a life saver b:laugh I'm basically waiting for lvl90 now for 3rd spark and TT90 set to see how my defences/HP will be.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

53 vit (white) + average gear can get you around 5.5k-6k HP without having to spend much money and is a great boost to survivability without nerfing your damage. Vit builds are mainly for PvP because whats the point of having super strong heals and a ton of damage if a sin/(insert class here) one shots you? Set your priorities first. Refining isn't easy if you don't have the money, and if you are like me (fail to refine past +1 with just mirages) you probably need to charge your credit card for each level of refinement b:surrender
b:chucklethe joke in my faction is that I fail at refining even with dragon orbs.
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze0 -
i wonder when i will see ppl going on heavy gearand how it will feel like sure ur attack will sux ofc but ur survability will we a bit betetr not 2 mention ur pets stats will we so much different go heavy mistic.
once my seeker can rwach 100 and solo frost 2 get to head i might give it a try for the lolz.0
