Cleric Sharding

Im about to get a new weapon, and i was wondering if fuseing it with + metal damage would be a more effective and cheaper method of sharding, compared to just +mag attack.

    No.

    As I understand, sharding with a +metal damage gem would only boost your melee attacking. So as a cleric, that will not be productive since we use ranged magic attacks and skills predominantly. Plus, a +metal damage would not improve your heals where as +magic attack would.
