1:) If you want Nirvana, you need 54 STR. I'm not sure if that's the same for Rank.
2:) At 80, I didn't bother to get the TT gear. Too much effort, not enough results. I stayed in my Stepphenwolf Cape/Pirate Sleeves/TT70 shoes and bottom until I hit 90. All that money I saved NOT buying FC gear and TT80....now goes to help me buy cannies for Nirvana.
At 90....this one is debatable. You could go TT90 and leave it at that. Most rich and fortunate people will be able to afford 95 gear, if you work hard enough and have the right people to talk to. This gear is actually quite nice, but both sets (on my server at least) are very costly as far as buying items in AH to make them, or just flat out buying the set. You could also go Rank 7, which is laughable in stats in certain pieces more than others....that, and it looks like your TT70 armor...which looks 'meh' in comparison to the aforementioned.
At 100, you can go one of three ways. You can work for your Nirvana set, and you will be very scary, and people will think you have way too much time on your hands.
You can spend X amount of time/effort/money on Rank 8, still be scary, but not quite as much as you would in Nirvana because everybody knows Nirvana gets better refines. The armor still has badassity stats and still looks awesome though.
Or, you can sell your mother's car, a family heirloom, and your baby sister and get Rank 9, where everybody and their mother will hate your guts...while also being oneshot on your insane amount of Soulforce.
It all depends on how much money you're giving away to the company who doesn't give a ****, what your playstyle is, what kind of Psychic you are, and what you want to accomplish at endgame.
3:) .-.They made fun of me because I wasn't a R8 Psychic...and then came third cast. It's not funny anymore.

1. For Nirvana gear, you need 54 str.
2. For Rank 8 gear, you need just level 100. There is no str requirement for the armor, but the weapon requires 44 str.
3. For Rank 8 gear, you need 55 str.2. what gear would be recommended at 80, 90, 100
_Petal_ basically summed it up gearwise. The one thing I might suggest, especially for level 80 gear, is to consider ☆☆☆ gear. It can easily be cheaper and provide better stats. And the mold weapons are great alternatives too! The level 77 sleeves that _Petal_ mentioned are generally nice for their -6% channeling, however as a psychic you will not benefit as much from -channeling so a ☆☆☆ gear may well be cheaper and more useful. Here is an example for a level 80 character below. Actually, this set can probably last you from 77 through 90 and until you get some new gear for then. You can probably find better ☆☆☆ gear for not that much more cost too. Just keep an eye on the Auction House and/or catshops.

Another option not mentioned by _Petal_ at 90 is the Rank 6 armor. This option can be convenient if you are going with Rank 8 or Rank 9 later. TT90 is nice either way but can be convenient if you choose the Nirvana path as you will need the TT90 gear to make the TT99 gear (that you will end up transforming into Nirvana versions).
Also, regardless of which gear path you take, high refines (+10-12) will earn you scary amounts of soulforce.3.no 3 just felt liek making one
Hope I Helped ^^0 -
Short version:
Get to lvl100 asap, buy rank 8 gear - if you go for anything else you're wasting your money.
Gear before lvl100 - you will level super fast to lvl90+, so the first "proper" gear you can buy is tt90, you can keep a nice lvl80 sphere until 100 or if you find good one on 90 obv. change :P
- also if you'll already have the rep for it, you can get rank gear on lvl90 instead of tt90. wrist you can either keep sleeves of sea captain or go for tt90 and instead of tt90 boots, you can get fc 85 boots which cost 20times less.
Long version:
when it comes to rank gear, for psys it's awesome. nirvana is out-dated, costs more and is weaker than r8.
it's pointless nowadays to invest much in gear before lvl100. i.e. you can skip tt70, tt80 and just go for tt90. if you get a few fcs per day, you can level up 2-3 times per day and once you hit 90+, levelling is not much harder.
probably most annoying is around 97-98 because you won't belong in the 90-95 category nor 99+ (if you're lvl98 and squad with 99, your exp will get nerfed, which sucks but oh well)
if you don't plan on sitting on lower levels too much, lvl85 fc gear is cheap as hell and isn't far behind tt90 - i.e. you can get nice boots and such for 100-150k and to get tt90 you'd need to pay 2-3mill or more depending on shards&refines.
it all comes down to how long do you think you'll keep your gear. for whatever reason, some people like to level slowly to get their skills maxed and gear upgraded nicely - as for my personal opinion:
go for lvl100 asap and get rank VIII - it costs only 200k rep which is 64 million coins if you buy reputation for 8k per badge. this can be your endgame gear if you don't want to invest too much into the game, or if you want to improve - go for r9.
just as r8 is way better and cheaper than nirvana, so is r9 when compared to nirvana 2nd recast.
only good stuff from nirvana that rank gear can't replace are pretty much cloak and helmet.
reason why I say to rush to lvl100 and get r8 gear is because it's the cheapest, best and most efficient path. your maximum dmg with lvl90 gear will be lower than minimum dmg with r8, that's how sick the upgrade is.
nirvana gear was cool back in 18th century, r8 is just so much cheaper and better it's an easy choice.0 -

At 100+ Nirvana, Rank 8, and Rank 9 are your best choices.
-Rank 8 is relative cheep, easy to get, and over all decent gear.
-Nirvana has better M&P Defense then rank 8 and the additions are better depending on what you prefer.
Nirvana gear is much more difficult to get and will cost you.
-Rank 9 is the best gear for 101+.Finding Solutions to many of your problems starts by looking in the mirror and accepting a small measure of responsibility0 -
thanks guys this really help ^^
sounds liek rank 8 would be best path for me
