I was wondering what class could run decently in PWI with cheap gear at top level. Ty!

    Good pets require either
    A: Cash shopping
    or
B: Taking forever to buy 9999 of the feathers or SoFs

    Either way, it's expensive.

Every class has costs. Barb/BM has repairs and gear. Cleric/Mystic has mana and gear. Venos have their hyper-expensive endgame pets.

If you really want to skimp on gear, I'd roll a DD class, because having mediocre gear as a DD won't cause your squad to wipe, as it would in a healer or tank position. Archer is pretty cheap, generally, and Sin, too, if you don't go 5.0 aps. DD caster classes (Wizard, Mystic) are ok for costs, but they eat mana like most people breathe air, so you'll buy a lot of mp food (fortunately, it's cheap).

That said, none of these classes is going to be a cakewalk to outfit properly. No matter what class you play, expect to do a lot of grinding, or merching, or something to keep up with just the costs of play.

Then again, I haven't reached endgame, so someone's free to correct me on everythingI just said. b:chuckle

That's a pretty good observation. However, as a barb, I know that my class can be pretty cheap to play (in PvE) simply due to the fact that even at 100+, all one really needs is tt90 armor for the vit. Updating your weapon is usually a good idea, and tt99 green axes are dirt cheap to make.

If your only concern really is just PvE, it's hard to beat a barb for over-all cheapness at endgame since most bosses die fairly quickly anymore with all the DDs running around with either high APS or high DPH. In most cases, I actually spend more in sub costs for TT runs or wine fees for BH than I do on repairs anymore lol.

The only other classes I can think of that can get away with just tt90 at endgame are non-fist archers and possibly venos.
Some people risk to employ me

Some people live to destroy me

    Either way they die

Just wanted to add: Although veno legendary pets are expensive, they aren't required at all. In fact they are becomming less usefull then they used to be, with the possible exception of nix if ya wanna run TW.

If you honestly break it down, veno pets are still way cheaper than going 5 aps and/or going rank 9. A veno can use cheap and even outdated gear without sacrificing their ability to be good at soloing, and usefull in groups.

That said veno's also have a harder time finding groups these days too. I say pick a class you think you'll enjoy playing, and go from there. You don't NEED to have all the best gear in order to have fun playing this game. The sooner you accept that, the more fun you'll have :)
