character customization

I read many PWI reviews from independent criticals. Whenever a new game came out, they always mentioned PWIs character customization, cause none can compete with it (some do, but they show only face on the screen anyway). Its very flexible and individual.

Tho i have to admit after fish and earth expansion, i see less options on them than on older classes. I think they should implement an option to set character more indivudual as like some people do it through editing ini (i know its bannable, i m talking about an option in game that makes it not).

We all like to be individuals, get rare fashion, get rare colors. I think its not "only" to show off, its as well to be recognized by every player by the look and color. we do like to be unique and not one of mass.

So i would love to see more efford into this, cause pwi shines nowadays through their character customization then anything else b:shutup

So far, I think the new classes are fun to play. But I was EXTREMELY disappointed with how limited the customization choices were for them. I can only surmise that the plan is to continue releasing new head fashion to keep people buying more, but seriously. There should be a lot more options to choose from when creating a new character. The choices are severely lacking compared to the older classes.

...The choices are severely lacking compared to the older classes.

"Quality over quantity" as the saying goes - more frequently, the complaint is that the new classes drastically outshine the older ones in terms of visual detail (TB/EG hairs on other races, for example). It would seem the developers put more time into a few higher-quality items than in 50 or so options that all re-use the same three textures and marginal variation (and let's face it, a LOT of those styles are just flat-out ugly anyway).

I don't think you're at all wrong in wanting more variety, and frankly I find the .INI editing rule to be stupid* but devs only have so many hours in their workday.

*I can see the singular argument about super-skinny stick people in PvP being hard to click. I fail to see why PWE can't make a rule to account for that while allowing "harmless" visual changes like nonstandard hair or body colors.

    Quite right.

Except that, I noticed the Earthguard gets more options than the Tideborn. Kinda screwed up. The males have facial hair, while tideborns are left to be prettyboys.
Also, no lip color options, no hair textures or layers(I would love the rainbow highlights hair option)

Personally, I don't see why they didn't just make the new classes hair available for the older ones and vice versa. It would seem to be logical, seeing as I do not like any of the Tideborn hairstyles. However, the .ini editing is what bothers me the most. Like Kieve, I can understand the argument for the "super skinny" characters, but they have already shown they do allow some edits. For example, let's look at KRSM's video seen here. I remember a thread some time back when he first posted the link to this on the forums, a GM even said he/she had noticed the Barb to have been edited, yet they allowed it.

It was indeed a harmless edit, however they did not ban him for it, or do anything. In fact, they made that video a premiered video on their website. So, why is it that a garnet red fish is going to be banned when an overweight panda isn't? I understand their rules, I respect them. As difficult as it is, I must edit my characters through the client rather than just change some numbers to get my character how I want.

I usually defend the GMs on most everything, however this is one where I am saying I think they need some revision on their policy.

Didn't get the rest of it, but apparently I am the "destroyer of sin haters" as well.

I think the only saving grace in the panda's case was that it's a level 1 film alt whose sole and laughable purpose was to appear in the video. If he'd been a "for play" character, I suspect they'd have taken action. Though nobody seemed to notice that the wizard later on was using tideborn hair...
Also points to keep in mind
    - the fat panda was on an alternate account, again used solely for filming. They may very well have locked mine down had it been on my main.
    - The wiz I just mentioned isn't one of my characters. They might have banned him as well, had they identified him.
