It is the player base that is desperate as well.
I, in no way approve of most of the things that pwi has implemented in recent times. I think many things, and especially, Rank 9 gear easily cash shop obtainable, are killing the game by creating a general situation that discourages people from actually playing(unless they already had a leg up), and puts those who do actually play at a huge time disadvantage to paying players. The paying players are no better off. They use their money , and thousands of it, to rush into getting their top gear.

As soon as r9 was released, the major QQ was that omg it was so hard to get(well duh, it's kind of end game).
and soon after, pw makes a greedy move, but a very clever business move. They make reputation **** cheap and directly cash-shop obtainable. Basically handing it out to all the desperate players who were willing to spend that much, which not to my surprise, there are a whole lot.

Rather than get at farming rep and actually doing in-game things to get their gear, prolonging their time spent in the game(which is part of what end game content is supposed to be anyway), they resorted to whining; and then whined again with the rep sales, but not without desperately clamoring with their mouths open drooling, throwing all in to get that gear.

If someone had came in right after the release of that gear, saying "hey, I will teach you ways that you all can farm rep to work your way up to that r9", everyone would have kept on QQing and sitting pathetically helplessly on their bums. PWI is doing what a money hungry company does, and many of the players are doing what desperate fools do. The player base here seems to only understand the language of "$", while I would like more ways of farming and obtaining items in-game,( that would actually lead people to play and enjoy the game) many others would just prefer to satisfy their need to have it all now by throwing money in. And many more, are jealous or upset at the fact that they arent desperate enough(or rich enough) to throw that much money in to get their gear, and so QQ for lower prices.

PWI and its desperate players kind of feed off each other, and need each other.

And people who aren't desperate should learn to stop caring. There's a lot of pressure and glamorizing of getting "up there". But when you've gotten up there what's left to do?
The true value in a game, especially a social one, is supposed to be playing it, but here people mostly wish to just cut out the journey and skip to the end. Basically, like going on a 2 second roller coaster ride. The fun is in the journey guys :/ take it easy

Frankie spoke of trying to get a new in game method to obtain medals, which sounds very idealistic but awesome nevertheless if it actually happened, til then, ur at the mercy of people who have them saved up with the only way to get them now being tw D:

and 50$ fashion totally counts -.-

    I don't follow the logic.

Because the game has added an option that allows some players to spend even more money, that means the game is dying?

    Yeah, um... no.

A dead game is one where you try to log-on one day, except the servers have been shut down because not enough people were paying to support the game you were playing for free. Do a Google search on F2P MMOs launched within the past 10 years and you'll find a vast wasteland of bankruptcies.

And frankly, as people have increased the amount that they're willing to pay, the amount of income I've been able to generate for free has increased too.

Did you miss my post? You used to be able to spend a standard of $400 a day and increase limit of $800 a day. Now you are only allowed to spend a standard of $200 a day or increase of $400 a day.

The $200 option just combines multiple charges...it has nothing to do with the spending limit per account.

    So I'll see it again:
THEY HALVED THE SPENDING LIMIT A DAY DOWN TO $400
