Graphics flickering with Nvidia card >_<

First off, I've done a lot of research on the forums, so I've read the threads and tried or checked out anything that seemed even remotely applicable. Just saying.

Just upgraded my motherboard and CPU from a single core 2.8ghz to a quad 3.2ghz with 4G RAM. My graphics card is the same, an Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 512megs ram. I'm running Win XP Pro SP3 32bit on a fresh install. I just formatted my system so everything is fresh.

I loaded PWI up, and the graphics problems were immediate. I've fiddled with the settings in game, running it on the lowest settings and the flickering is still there. I made sure the drivers were the latest, no change. I installed the latest DivX, no change.

After some investigation, I installed older drivers, 258, seeing there might be issues with the newest Nvidia drivers. Still flickering. I've played with the settings on the diver, but nothing seems to fix it. This card ran PWI just fine before my upgrade. Granted it took a few months to get the money together to upgrade my PC, which died in December.

My card and system are working fine other than that, videos are fine, the graphics look great, it's just PWI I think. I'm going to check my LoMA as well, to make sure that runs fine too.

Any ideas? Have I missed anything here? Is there an older driver set that will work? Is it something with Genisis? I'm out of ideas.

I've run the dxdiag, so I can post that, or do whatever with it upon request. Thank you for your time.

Please submit this issue in a ticket to Tech Support. Be sure to provide any related screenshots that will help us see what you are seeing, and to attach your system's dxdiag to the ticket.

    Cheers!

You said that you upgraded your motherboard...did you ensure that the memory card fit exactly in its port? I know that I had similar issues with my memory card not being an exact match to the port on the motherboard.

Hope that my minimal knowledge in this field is helpful!

It's just one stick, so if it's not in right, I would guess that the PC wouldn't even see it? I had a badly set stick once years ago and not only did the PC not see it, but it fried the stick to boot. I'm guessing that would still be the case? Still, thanks for the suggestion!

best to first try resetting it. if that doesn't work try your 3d settings and vsync

(also does it flicker in OTHER games, or just PWI?)

Like people said above, try removing your memory module AND the graphics card and put it back in place, ensuring it gets a perfect fit, minor glitches in the fit specially on the graphicscard can create random problems like that
