With R8 available for a mere 72 gold, is LA wiz still worth it?

    no it isn't, pre-90 its good after that it sucks, with jones' blessing pure wiz is a lot easier now.

    50 vit arcane offers survivaibility specially with 2-3 star hp gear, but without as much damage cost as la, not to mention an easy restat if you ever want to take it out, really dont see why anyone would want la unless its to be different, but w/e floats your boat.

    LA Mage kinda limits what mages are meant to do in my opinion....Wizzies are supposed to be powerhouse one shotters....LA kinda limits your attack as you have to put in dex and str and not as much Mag.

    Survivability maybe....but still a pure Magic Mage with good channelling can take a LA mage ANYDAY.

    i can understand doing it when you have a light armor char with full +10 accountstashable gear
    get rank8 on top of that for a ring a weapon and a top (since LA users most likely use r8 top? :P)

    Back in the day, demon LA wiz was viable... but with the variety of AA gear now (through packs and nv) there's no reason to go LA.

    Basically these. If its just an alt and you already have the LA gear it'd be kinda stupid imo to not go LA.

    there's nothing better than a pure mage with 3 vit :D

    on Harshlands there's a HA psy with armor and r9 wep +12 and it looks hard to kill for bm/sins/archers..ppl gang him and he dont die. so i guess HA maybe is better than a LA wiz

    It doesn't matter what armor you got these days cause you get 1shotted by R8/R9 anyways. Might as well go robe to max your dmg.

    yes, LA sucks

    HA is better, not kidding
    wouldnt have thought we ever come to that conclusion, but HA is the best armory
    and thus a better choice than Light

    you have to adapt a different strategy with more uses of Sutra
    and you have to accept the fact that you will loose vs other magic users
    are unable to kill some high hp HA
    but dominate LA users


    you can go use Elemental ornaments, maybe with channeling

    Noone was a bigger advocate of LA wiz 0-80 or 90 than me, but with jones blessing and ever cheaper hyper exp stones, there really isn't any reason for it. And post lvl 90? That was almost never a good idea. The only exception I can think of has already been said - if you want to account stash light armor between characters. But expect people to laugh at you.

    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze
