Is Venomancer for me?

Hello. As the title says, I'm thinking of rolling a Venomancer. I'm not a newbie, but also not a pro. I'm gonna go Pure Mag Build and when I reach 80s/90s I'll probably switch to HA/AA build. But firstly, I wanna ask some questions about Veno:

1. I'm kind of antisocial person and Veno seems to be great solo class, but at what point are they really able to solo harder things?

2. I will focus mainly on PvP, especially TWs and group PvP, maybe some PK. How is Veno in it?

3. I'd like to be able 1shot people, well, Veno seems to lack both nukes and AoE, isn't she?

4. How much does Nix/Herc cost in Coins?

1- yea u will be able to solo allot of boss's n such but bh's n fb's not that much
2-get a nix n u will see how good is it b:cool
3-good weap n good refine n u will be able to 1hit allot of peeps
4-like 120-140mil i guess (no sale)

Hm, so at the endgame Veno's gonna be really nice. And about 1shotting, u mean which classes? And does this apply to equally geared people or only to poorly geared ones?

Oh, and are there many Venomancers in PWI? Heard they're the most popular class...

1 --- depends on what you mean by "harder". 20 or so levels above the boss, for a lot of BH-type bosses. never, for some things that debuff the pet; you'll not pet-tank pole alone, no matter what.

2 --- i wouldn't know, as i don't PvP. TW sure doesn't seem like the thing for an antisocial person, though...?

3 --- forget oneshotting anything even close to your level. we're not that kind of spike-damage DDs; that's wizards, archers, and sins. we DO have AoEs, but they're kindof anemic compared to what (say) BMs, wizards, and seekers can bring; they're useful skills, but again, won't oneshot anything that isn't well below your level.

that's talking PvE, to be clear. i dunno about PvP, once again --- i'm guessing comparative gearing levels would have a big impact there.

4 --- depends on if the pet packs are on sale or not. see Solandri's useful thread; it's more geared towards buying gold for coin on the AH, but the logic's the same either way.

if there's no sale on: 9999/26.8*0.5 ~= $187. (that's SoF needed / (SoF/feathers per pack) * $USD per pack.)

1) Veno's a great class for statigists You'll have a wide range of skills to choose from, and a veriety of things to do, depending on the situation (as well as a choice of effective builds)
My veno's 86 now, and I can solo TT 2-1 (un-herced). With a herc, you'll be able to solo a lot of things; but... APS melee classes with BP (a sin skill) can solo it just as easily.. and faster >.< because the herc's damage sucks
(although, if you get sage sould degen, the HP recovery on the boss is stopped for a while, om nom nom )

2.) Veno's arent the best PK / PvP class, but my veno's a TW veno (aka, a 'vit veno') but if you;re looking for PvP... roll a sin or a seeker If you want a mage tho, psy or veno

3.) Don;t let anyone tell you veno's lack AOE. They obvioustly fail at venoing.
Noxious gas- 9 meter AOE nuke, short cool down
Nova - Our 2 spark AOE, another nuke for us
Lucky scarab is a hard-hitting skill i love
Befuddling mist has short-range AOE i belive
Myriad rainbow 15 meter range AOE, with chanses to debuff too . < epic skill
Malefic crush - Short range, 2 spark fox form AOE (very nice against Mages in TW >D)

As for one shotting though, unlikely. You'll hit hardest against Heavy armour; most of whom will have high HP.... your chanses of 1 hitting a sin are 0, because they have a skill that freakin' stops that... But if you cast lucky (a stun) which knocks them down a few; you'll be able to cast another skill before the stun wears off . boom.
And... you won;t 1hit anything in fox form.... Venos are more like a jack-of-all-trades than a master of one.

4.) Legendarys cost, on average $180, i got lucky, mine came to about $120 (got a LOT of 40 packs) but there are a fair few sales these days; so with 50% off, $90, and if you get lucky like me; $60 b:victory

how profitable is 2-1 on solo mode i wasnt even aware a lvl 86 un herced veno can do it, im 85 atm with a walker and chan gear so this is def interesting news to me

its decent not the best place, im 100 and i can solo everything up until 3-1, only few bosses that i cannot tank aka wurlord, pole in 69, ape boss in 2-3, im sure i could manage it in 2-1 and 2-2 squad mode

but for a 85 veno that doesnt have herc, but has a walker i would prolly say its doable, but im not even sure, the first boss in 2-1 hits kinda hard, so be prepared...

@author of thread, im on lost city and it costs around 150-200mil for nix or herc...nix is preferred for pk, theres no way in hell you will be able to one shot anyone not with the skills available to you, even with all your gear +10 and someone is comparable to do you unless debuffed with dragons and the other ones...

100 veno with herc can solo just about anything look at first paragraph i wrote...
