I have a rather puzzling issue, i recently dueled a level 50 mystic, and they used their knockback skill on me (Bramble Tornado) and i actually knocked me back! why is it that the mystics' knocksback works in PVP when the archer or wizzies knockback doesnt? if you have any kind of information on the subject, please let me know. and please, no mingebags.

wow they knockbacked a range class. that is skill right there my friends.

~this has been a known glitch for a really long time, fortunately the GMs are taking care of more pressing issues like Medals. Thank god they fixed that.

it was just something pwi wanted :/ they said in an interview that the mystic was deliberately supposed to have a knockback skill that works in pvp...

dont exactly know why- other than they said so xD

It not a glitch or a Bug, Bramble Tornado dose work in PvP.

Why can't can't archers or wizzies get knockback? I don't know, but I think it would be fair for everyone who has a Knockback skill for it to work in PvP. But I think if that happens most likely there will be some type of complaint about Archers and Mages being OP and etc. >_>

for the same reason they made psychic bramble work , while veno bramble doesnt, gave sins stealth, and gave seekers a +30 def level buff and the best constant aoe, because they want to advantage new classes so older players re-roll and spend money building another character.

i'm sort-of halfway curious now; why were the other classes' knockbacks ever made to not work in pvp, in the first place?

because it would be impossible to keep an archer at close range >.>

The reason it was made to work because the current devs have no clue what game balance or continuity actually means. They don't actually play the game either.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

Could you imagine if wizards knock back worked in pvp... i mean Will of Phoenix has a very fast cast time and a short cooldown no one would get bloody close to the wizard in a fight lol...

would just be WoP, Gush, pyro, gush, WoP...repeat till dead

    And the logic behind that?

It MIGHT have made sense back in the old days before genies. But now, it's more or less impossible to stunlock someone with a good genie in PVP. So... 5.0 Archer is a tradeoff? It sucks though, because a fist archer does **** for damage compared to like... Anything else at 5.0.

I'm not gonna use a Mystic for PVP. That's what my Archer is gonna be for, or my Veno, or my BM, or my Psy, or whatever. I've got so many characters above my mystic, I'm not gonna bother with it until I'm bored on them all.
    101 Sage Sin*/Archer
    100 Demon BM*/Barb
    96 Demon Cleric/Sage Seeker
    95 Demon Wiz/
    94 Sage Veno
    85 Psy/80 Mystic
And a handful of other alts, all 79 and under.

It's not "just" for the knockback. I'd knock almost any class back as long as they stay in range of my nukes, because it also effectively makes you unable to cast spells for the entire duration of the knockback.. In addition bramble tornado is one of our most damaging regular nukes, as well as having only .5 cast time.

I replied to the 7th topic on the 1st page of mystic forums, and got reported for necro. Plz save mystic forums.

It achieves the same effect as a wiz's distance shrink. The only difference is it's called a knockback. A wiz can even go any direction they want, mystic (or the target) can only go one direction.

Yep, wiz gets distance shrink to kite. Archers get alacrity and damage reduction skills. Us psys get psychic will and a irritating array of self buffs to counteract damage (**** kiting, you can't hit me anyway!).

We'll see how balanced they are in a few months when people learn to play them (and with them).

Yep. It's basically a three second stun that also puts distance between you and your opponent.

And perhaps that's why, for some drunkard reason, Soul of Retaliation can reflect the knockback.

wait.. They knockback THEMSELVES against you?

Anyway the reason you can't use it in PvP in the first place (originaly), is that it allows you to knockback PvP targets into bosses or groups of mobs, essentially PKing someone by making them get killed by mobs (and thus losing exp)
