After reading the replies on my other thread I decided that I definitely want to TW. Well funny thing is just this week a friend in another faction recruited me and now I am officially going to be tw'ing this weekend.

So I've read the seraphims guide at least 20 times, re-sharded phys def where necessary, protection ornaments, and all is well refined for my level.

I don't have unrealistic expectations I think. I'm actually the second highest level wizard in faction (other is 101) and I expect to die alot lol. Main thing is I just want to be able to benefit this faction in the best way possible at this level.

My main question falls along the lines of macros and skill bar setup. If anyone has a screen shot or a link that would show how best to set up what skill and where they are. Also what are some good macros that i should have set up for twing.

I've got extreme poison, holy path, I plan to go in with plenty of necessary pots, I've been practicing combos on the poor mobs everywhere I go and dueling like a mad man. No discrepancy, fighting anyone or anything just to try and get a feel for pvp(seeing as how I'm on a pve server). I'm not very experienced. So just any tips or pointers would be extremely appreciated. I'm completely open to options at this point. Just trying to avoid an epic death-fest and at least making some decent kills in spite of my level/gear disadvantage.

Chi building can become hard in TW especially when you are a lower lvl player because you might get 1 shotted by higher lvls a lot. Keep in mind that everytime you die you lose all your mana and chi + the buffs including selfbuffs so be sure you bring

    mana pots
    chi pots

with you. You should also be aware that as a wiz your main job might be killing the cata barbs so try to adjust your targeting by changing options so that you can select only the targets you want to attack. Try to teamwork with other players and fullfill the role you are supposed to do Def or Attack. Try to use synergy effects between the classes for instance any psy benefits equally from your undine and so on ....

HF and GL for your first TW

Thanks harmownie for the advice. Oh and sorry for the post spamming earlier that's what happens when you leave a workplace comp. unattended with your account up lolbb:chuckle

Yeah I've got a silverrain pataka +5 with stone of savant that I'll be carrying at 85 so I'll be able to level out the playing field a tad. also at 85 I'll have SW, BIDS and BT will we 9 or 10 and FoW is already at 8 so I know my biggest challenge will just be being patient with the process of learning(like anything). Luckily with reset our tw's have been been a lil milder and only like 40-50 pvp versus the the full 80v80 so it's a great time to break into it.

Also should I keep jones'? Or should I get the anniversary which has the def level increase?

Jones is fine. You'll probably be dead anyway if someone higher lvl than you targets you.

    A few main rules:
    ALWAYS have stone shield up

If your BIDS can't kill people, don't use it. Use Mountain Seize instead to stun targets so the rest of the team takes them down easy (and do some dmg in the procces).

Stay of the road, it's where the Bm's run, and everyone looks for targets. Stand on the sides of the road (so above the road), and behind the action. Make good use of assist attack, so your whole squad attacks the same target

I was actually told by someone to re-buff behind the base because the opposing faction will wait for you to walk out front and kill you again. If I'm near the 101 wiz I will watch her and hopefully pick up quickly how to run TW as wiz. I'm not expecting a medal of valor for this trip in fact it's prolly more like walkin the green mile, but hey I'm a wizard and a glutton for punishment so I'll just give it what I got. They better get me first that's all I can say.

    Rule nr.1 in TW:

    You will die. Alot.
Just make sure you kill the right person before you die (or help to kill it)

A wizard's role in TW is usually to just drop ultis. We have the best aoe DPH in the game (from chi building, damage, range, effects.. etc..) so our job is to hit people with them. Unfortunately at your level, you may not be doing a **** ton of damage with them.. so you may fall into more of a support role (unless you are fighting other 8x.. where ultis might work just fine). If you are going to be more support, MS for the stun will be good, undining targets for other mages/psychics (i.e. cata barbs) will be good, and FoW ALOT. FoW is amazing for bms that run in anti stunned, so sealing them will give your faction mates time to move away before the roar/dragons.. or archers that are zhenning (esp if they are anti stunned).. if you're lucky you can stop other mages from casting ultis.. stopping a barb from turtling at your crystal.. the list goes on. Try using a few ultis and see if you can kill people.. if not just spam FoW, stun groups with MS, undine people, and assist attack. If you are able to kill them, use ultis + FoW as your main priorities, and assist attack to build chi.

Just remember you are not a tank. At all. You should probably be kinda sitting in the back assisting targets (or tab targetting) the people that are running in.. and when you have enough chi for an ulti make a very brief appearance at the frontline to drop an ult on a group (try using like domain or fortify for a better chance at getting it off) and then retreat back to build chi. You can only really learn so much from reading the forums, you could try a youtube search for Haiz's videos, it might help you better prepare for what its going to be like. You'll probably just learn as you go, don't get too caught up on what you need to do.. just go in have fun and do better the next time.

Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze
