Hi guys! I quit playing PWI... oh gosh, a couple years ago? Right after the water class was introduced. I've been thinking of picking it up again and trying to get back into the game, but I think I should ask before I go through with installing it:

Is it still even possible to play at higher levels without real money? What's the in game economy like? Whats the general price of gold, and what's the general method of grinding for cash now (assuming DQ items are still down in value)?

Any other big changes that affect the players that don't sink a lot of money into the game? Thanks!

    Servers go down every hour due to DDoS attack, Pwi hasnt fixed a ****, more bugs in game and WB :)

    That sucks! is that DDoS attack just today? And thanks ^^

    It has been going on the last 4-5 days, and nothing has gotten better... they turned on 2xDrops/Exp/spirit,
    But with that came 2x Server crashes and 2x Lag aswell

    What he didn't add is that it's world-wide. PWE isn't the only company affected by this DDoS attack.

    Korean gov't servers have been blasted by DDoS. PWE, Netflix and numerous other MMOs/sites have been hit as well.

    Its still possible to play without real money, you just have to work at things a little harder. Gold was around a mil for a while but atm on DW its at ~700k-750k
    A favoured way of grinding for cash is Nirvana runs, TT is not as popular and mats have gone down in value now due to 2x drop events and also people are now attaining higher levels faster. Merchanting if you don't mind leaving the game on overnight or unattended.
    Big changes? Well there's been the Earthguard expansion...
    BTW I haven't had connection issues or much in the way of lag

    Due to the new expansion : Earthguards, a few new things did happen.

    2 other new classes :

    - Seekers (Think like a true sword only BM with nice AoE moves/debuffs and party buffs)

    - Mystics ( Veno and cleric had a child, can't tame, but can summon, and can heal)

    - New land, bottom left of map under lvl 105+ mobs, yeah ..there..To me, fun to explore, not really small, but I hope u can fly..The terrain is well..u'll see..won't spoil all..

    - Bunch of new quests if u like questing. Even old chars get a bunch.

    - A 1/2 failed faction base system, very costy to build up with insanly high costy items in it, still beeing tweaked.

    - Bh can give new rewards "Divine orders" I'll let you explore on that. 3 new npc's for that near general summers.

    - New craft skill : Runecrafting. Can make a temporary rune to "attach" to a wep for a 30 mins buff. A tad costy per rune though. 85k or so to make a lvl 1 one that can give magic + 5 for 30 mins for exemple.

    - New musics in the new lands, some actually pretty good :)

    - Few quests and features not totally implemented yet.

    - Interface has also be revamped a bit, to me it does look better.

    - Supply stash changes, some rewards are different in it, some even timed b:shocked

    On more sad note though, no new dungeons/instances (yet, but suppose to be upcoming), earthguards get their "fb" boss right there on the map.

    Oh and when u go explore the new lands, if u are rather low level, don't go tickle a 'Obsidian" something...

    Thanks guys! I was meaning to ask, so I'm glad you brought it up, flyingkea. If mats have gone down in value, what's the best way to get some money? I'm not sure what nirvana is, but I'm going to take a wild guess and assume I'm not a high enough level for it yet.

    I've been thinking of going after a herc for my veno. I have questions about that, but I'll save them for the veno forums. But I would like to know how I should go about saving up that serious amount of moolah.

    Play your veno, and trick some insanely rich guy.
