Well this is my first character and my first mmorpg game ever(started nov '10) and I've been faithful to my wiz and inspite of the negative talk about our abilities and role in the game I honestly love to play him. But at this point with costs compounding and showing no signs of stopping and feeling at-times useless in-game maybe it would be helpful to say something positive

So if you dare, I wanna hear from the experienced wizards on here at least ONE thing they LOVE about their wizard b:laugh

I'll start

I love those rare crits when all the elements align and you see the biggest, ugliest, hairiest numbers you've ever seen before pop up and the joy of watching mobs(or people?) not get to take two steps. That is beast and I love it.

Even though our dps suffers. You can tell when a wizard is hitting something. Where high APS characters are like crazed wood chippers we are like pac-man on the hp bar and I just wish I could do it faster but still. I love that feeling.

I also love having dual wizards in squad and setting up dual DB's with cleric BB'ing and watching mob after mob run into a vortex of fiery doom. So let's hear it. I wanna hear some of you all's stories. I've never TW'd but eventually I will so I'd love to hear the background on some of your exploits.

    I need stories! My wiz is 72 as of now... So I don't have much to say. But. I made a psy and got it to lvl 37, then decided to make a wiz. My psy is still lvl 37 and wiz is 72. XD It's just so much fun. :)

    TW is fun.

    Tab, gush, stone, tab, gush stone, etc.

    Or BIDS/other ulti on a traffic jam -->

    Ground gets littered with dead people...unless an archer snipes you.

    The wizards kiting abilities with distance shrink in combination with the slow spells and fow which allow the wizard to kill mobs without taking dmg at all.

    The skill animations and the huge variety of skills available

    I love being able to one shot the highest hp pools in the game with a crit. The epic kiting abilities slow/freeze/sleep/ds.

    Just participated in my first TW yesterday, and it was awesome. Didn't want to start doing it till 90+ though as I actually wanted to be somewhat useful. And whilst I died alot, i did manage to take down a few big players.
    So don't feel discouraged, it can be a hell of a ride leveling a wizz, but once you get high enough, it becomes really fun. Depends what you wan to get out of it i guess.
    Practice dueling, it won't teach you everything, and at lower levels you will die lots, but these are chances to learn about what you can do with your wizz

    Nothing, and I mean nothing, matches the feeling of channeling BIDS, using Frenzy, then watching the BIDS crush dozens of people, followed by a sea of red numbers, with nothing but a pile of dead bodies left in the wake.

    Yes, TW as a wiz is orgasmic b:pleased

    The ability to just pwn ****.
    with a lvl 70 cleric, i can "solo" the FB89's
    whoop a lvl 102 barb in full rank 9 in a duel with just 3 shots
    fully buffed with my phys. def gear on, i have almost 8k p. def (no demon SB yet)
    1-2 shotting people higher level than me
    undine+demon spark+BIDS=*drool*
    18.5k fire def. buffed with pyroshell up
    607 1337?

    lolwut? Those are the things that made Wizards so OP.

    We got some of the, if not the, best rank gear.

    Genies are epic for wizards, they cover up our few flaws.

    Refining is absolutely amazing on wizards.

    I love stone barrier.. where else can you get 1 spell that stacks with other phy def buff with no negative effect that boost your defence in physical as well as earth.

    Demon Spark + Cloud Eruption + one of my friends shooting a maxed Earthblaze (That is a genie skill) + a lvl 11 Blade Tempest.

    Ownage, everything, and I mean, everything dies.

    I know a BIDS instead of my BT wold own on solo mode, but then again, the Earthblaze makes that combo hit harder, and since I love Vent, I have lots of fun on TW.

    Other than that, Demon Spark and the few seconds of -88% channeling, they feel like glory, stealing agro from high APS players on that way makes them go WTF ^.^

    And even more if I follow a few Demon Wellspring Quaff, so, they can't get the agro back xD
