pvp vs ha and la armor has been good and i feel to have the advantage. however pvp against an arcane user is like ....
i really dont know a effective combination of skills/genie to beat an arcane user with similar gear.

fair as iv been told by some of the seekers on Lost City to beat Arcane you should use Heartseeker and hope you get an Immbolize (i know you said real pk not hoping for a crit or stuff) but once you get the immbolize you hit gemini and then just use some physical hits on them[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=35659754003&dateline=1307459884[/SIGPIC]

So far in my experience against arcane, Heartseeker is one of the best skills.
My current two combos(or whatever you want to call it) are:(max chi on both)
#1
Heartseeker->Voidstep->Blade Affinity(gets me back to two sparks and speeds up channel)->Yataghan Vortex.
Heartseeker has %Chance to immobilize.
Stops them from running, Voidstep closes the gap, while making them unable to attack(can't knock me out of Vortex's Channel as easily).
Blade Affinity brings me from 1spark-full chi bar to 2sparks.
Then channel Vortex.
If you get immobilize from heartseeker, should wear off after one tick, and the class most likely won't escape in time for the second tick.
Have gone against a level 65 wizard and a level 71 Veno with this, worked
Amazing. Two ticks of Vortex=Dead Arcane at this level.
#2
Heartseeker-> Double Spark-> Blade affinity-> Gemini Slash->Voidstep->AutoAttack.
Heartseeker again, has a chance to make them not be able to escape.
Double spark protects and give extra attack power.
Blade tremendously speeds up Gemini Slash.
Gemini normally will hit from 1.8k-2.2k(mine is level one currently, and I need to upgrade weapon next level, so it really is more powerful than that).
From there, if still alive, voidstep Closes the distance, and makes the Opponent not be able to escape again.
Auto Attack until Dead(if they start to run, Heartseeker is most likely recharged, use it)
Hope this helps. I'm not high level, but love pvp/duelling with seeker.0 -

^^^what he said, dont forget to use anti-stun apoth pots or have a genie with fortify and/or absolute domain.
you can also look at my posts in the seekers in pk thread.
here's a run down by class on what to look out for when using voidstep > (insert chi getting skill here) > vortex:
wizards: will use FoW and distance shrink away, now your heartseeker is on cooldown and you have no sparks. in short, you're toast.
prevention: use Occult ice (genie skill). a high strength genie will make this almost never miss and he will be powerless to stop you from killing him.
mystics: a mystic will either stun you with pet (demon chihyu) and/or bramble tornado ( a knockback that works in pvp) and then thicket you. in short you're dead again.
prevention: this one is tricker, you're actually better off waiting until he has skill dumped on you. use domain to negate damage and some of his control abilities, then voidstep and mop him up. another choice would be voidstep > domain > immunity pot while domain is running > winning.
psychics: these guys are annoying, they hit as hard as wizards, and can immune physical damage for a ridiculous amount of time. they will also likely pop you with earth vector to stun your ***. because of their immunity skill you're better off using your metal skills on them.
prevention: try using blade affinity > ion spike > heartseeker > battousai > gemini slash. yes gemini is a physical attack, but if you have soulsever as your stance up, gemini will proc a metal damage attack. since you used ion spike first they will be metal debuffed. if they arent dead you have debuffed them so they do less damage to you and your subsequent attack will do more to them.
venomancers: veno's have a number of ways they can react to your presence. some will bramble hood and hope their pet kills you. some may use their pet to pounce while they try to reduce your pdef then stun you again and drop a parasitic nova, all this after purging and amping you of course.
tips: this one is going to be reactionary. try kiting the pet away then using voidtep to jump to the veno and kill her quick.I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of title, the character of an honest man. -George Washington0 -
Use Soulsever Minuet only long enough to get the spirit bore proc for -def/atk levels then switch to Parched Blade dance for the proc associated with Stalagstrike. Spirt Bore has a higher chance of procing and lasts longer so I suggest using it first. Arcane classes are going to have a naturally higher resist to metal so you're going to have a naturally harder time with them anyway. Chain your stun with some creative use of occult/voidstep and bash away. If they're constantly staying at range use Heartseeker and skill cancel voidstep to close the distance then repeat the above combo for disables. If you have the Chi Vortex has a huge range and deals great physical damage in short bursts so it can actually be effective at times if used from 0 range in combination with a disable combo (situation and class should determine the timing). When starting a combo Edged Blur can work well, even though it has a metal component, because it allows you to stack burst damage very quickly while still doing damage with other skills. Even without relying on the metal component, Gemini Slash still does 450% base damage + 5K and can be effective if used correctly, especially for a bypass.
tl;dr = Get creative with disables and burst damage.0 -
For me, this math works:
Heartseeker + Voidstep + Blade Affinity + Gemini Slash + any (decent) skills of your preference = b:victoryRetired...
Reasons? Packs, rank gear, picky greedy players, the list goes on b:bye0 -

Another great way to deal with venos is to use Quid Pro Quo on them if they have a nix.Good intentions are like peeing yourself in dark leather pants, you get warm feelings inside, but it doesn't show.0 -
Haha Haden, give them back their OP Nix bleed. xD0
