Why is PW stealing my inventory slots?

I am really getting tired of gear that cannot be discarded, sold, traded, account stashed or decomposed. I have this stupid ring that is nowhere near as good as the ones I am wearing and can't get rid of the damn thing! What really bothers me is that I know I have had other items like this at lower levels, but they are gone. How did I get rid of them or did they just "wear off?"

I mean, if there was a logical reason for something like that - I would get it. But what it looks like is that the devs are just **** WITH US for the hell of it.

The ridiculous RED SPAM of so-called system announcements about infinite near-worthless purchases is the other thing that is threatening to annoy me enough to give it up.

    Ok I'm guessing your considering bank as inventory too. Sorry was confused for a min. The ranked badges you had B4 you traded in for a higher level one. Thats why they are gone.

    I guess they did so in certain items so that players cannot accidentally sell/decompose/drop them. for bound equipment you can always destroy them at traveling vendor npc's (traveling vendor hsu in etherblade for example). It takes 72 hours for the equipment to be destroyed. I haven't tried this yet, cause i'm one of those people who keeps collecting useless junk just because i think they have some sort of sentimental value b:chuckle

    The rank badge has to stay with you unless you want to be rank 1 forever, since you need it to upgrade your rank.

    So if it is important, why are the stats so lame compared to the rings I have been wearing for quite a few levels? The only thing it really offers is a +1 Crit, which is not a big deal overall.

    Because your rank is so low?

    Take a look at the Rank 6, Rank 7, Rank 8 and Rank 9 rings. By the way, the Rank 9 ring is pretty much the best ring in the game.

    Because this game isn't ALL "Gimme gimme gimme" and you have to take coal before you get the diamond sometimes. b:scorn

    next time you have enough REP to upgrade a rank, dont take the badge after you upgrade. that way, you can save 1 bank slot. lol.

    For an Archer, Rank rings are actually really good. You get +Physical and +Magical damage, and Archer, as long as you're using Blazing Arrow, does both with just auto attack. So, it really boosts your damage, even if the +phys is lower than your normal ring...

    However, I have run into this myself, after purchasing a Loyalty Warbow, that is junk, from the Faction Base. For a week, I get to live with the pile of **** taking up an inventory slot, or bank slot, since it's useless, and has a 7 day timer on it. Not making that mistake again. >_>

    My point is, I have "the diamond" already in the form of two rings that are each more beneficial, stat-wise than that low rank ring. If I were to equip that ring, I would lose HP, MP and several defense enhancements.

    So I guess now my question becomes: "Why do I care about rank at all?"

    Is ignoring rank really going to be a detriment to leveling beyond a certain point?
    I understand that certain rank-related quests and certain gear will never be available to me, but should that be a big concern? I mean, will I get to a point that I can't progress unless I go back and do all the rank-related quests or what?

    No one said that you had to get your rank ring, or that you have to use it. =P Just put it in your bank til you get the next Rep level and upgrade it, then repeat until you have a useful ring. I think around Rank 3 it starts to get good.
