Mystics at Endgame?
Okay, so I really enjoy the mystic, except for the horrible expense of mana pots. I'm considering taking it to endgame, but then I can't help but wonder, where would it fit in?
We can't use bows in FC, making heads a pain and we can't replace a cleric. Post FC, its all about aps, which, as a magic class, we don't have. We're a great backup healer and have some nice skills, but is a Nirvana group really going to take a mystic over another high aps sin or bm? I suppose a really high aps group with bp on might survive with just a mystic healer, but not sure on that.
Its still early days, and we don't have all our skills yet, but anyone else thought about where we might fit in at 100+?

I'm wondering the same. One of the things that makes venos valuable endgame is their debuffs, which mystics lack. In certain instances we can heal as well as a cleric, but all around we're not equal.
I think we'd be decent in FC though, with our plants/aoes. Heads aren't really an issue since NV goes off so fast with such a low cooldown, and I would think a nicely placed plant would also be helpful. I think in some Nirvana squads we could easily replace clerics. As for everything else... well, people aren't too picky really. The only thing that might be hard for us is RB because there would be so many other people competing for just one spot. lol[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Try using ur ranged pet the one with the whip...i'm too lazy to log in and get the name. Give pet chi/mp leash it so that it follows commands enable its aoe spell by right clicking skill. When heads pop tab and send pet to attack then tab again for another head target for urself to cast on...you'll be pro at heads then.One of the things that makes venos valuable endgame is their debuffs, which mystics lack.

FC accepts every class. i mean, look at archers. they only have 2 AOEs (that i know of lol), and one of them is meh. their buffs for the party are ok, but able to life without. sure theyre experts at hands and heads but anyone can do that. but, theyre welcome to the party because theyre good DDs on bosses.
I think Mystics will be accepted into FCs easily. They can really help the puller not die so much with their over time heal that activates -when they get hit- unlike clerics overtime which will probably run out by the time that happens. not only that, but lvl 10 salvation can help in many situations there also. We have 2 AOEs, 3 if you count lysing punishing sting, 4 if u count cragglord. we cant purge an enemy but we can cast debuffs on enemies to make them die a little quicker. our attack isnt weak, comparable to a veno so DDing isnt a problem either.
as for heads... i wonder if punishing sting will attack them?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Oh, I think we'll get into FC okay - people will take anyone just to fill a squad. Its the later instances like Nirvana that I'm worried about. Its all about aps there and are our plant debuffs and backup heals really going to be enough to get us squads? I don't think our damage will compare to a 4 or 5 aps sin or bm.0

Yeah, but other classes have the same debuffs that last longer and have a higher percentage. We also don't have an amp like venos do. We can debuff, sure, but it would be stupid to do so if it overwrites better debuffs from another class.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The debuffs that Mystics have are invaluable to any instance. Additionally, Mystics have Resurrect...
So, debuffs, summon (pet) for dd, resurrect, healing herb, vital herb, "back-up" heals, etc etc etc...I think Mystics will do just fine. Sad to say, I think they might do better for instance parties then Psy's b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I assumed it would overwrite them because the icons are the same, but I can't remember if I've used them while another class (that knew to debuff) was around. If it stacks then they're decent. Awesome for any instance that requires some AOEing, regardless of whether or not they overwrite.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

People have to try to understand the fact that at any one job, mystics may seem unfit to it compared to other classes. though the mystic is so versatile, it does every job. Yes you would get stuff done quicker with another dd but a mystic gives the party a little bit of everything (not to mention an amazing buff that will save parties countless wipes). all this, while we haven't even acquired our high level skills. I'm sure most parties would be glad to have a mystic in it.. b:laugh0

Pretty much this.
The mystic is the anti wipe/makes things run smoother tool for parties, They may not do any 1 job as well as there counterparts but that's simply because they shouldn't. (Why would there be a reason to play the others if they were)
We'll provide a plethora of unique abilities to save peoples butts/make the run easier and provide dps and heals along with a good chunk of the debuffs in the entire game.
