No one rushes to 89+ or 99+ for skills anymore. Its for gear...Guessing op wanted her Rank8 stuff as fast as possible. Mystics are very affected by gear, the summons power is directly affected by your magic attack. I can kinda understand people who no-life in Frost when they have like 200/300k worth of rep items waiting in bank. Also majority of random players hitting 99+ today doesn't have more than maybe 1 demon/sage skill anyway b:chuckle.0 -

Wasted? Isn't an mmo for long term fun, not get all characters to lvl 100+ then quit? Took me over a year to get 100 on my cleric and I'm thoroughly satisfied.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Honestly... not many people "play" like it used to be done anymore. I try forming gamma and get a dozen pms asking me what that is. Ask if anyone wants to zhen- people ask if I mean charge gold.
Whether it's in Fc all day or at the head hunter shouting "XX class looking for bh XX!" for 10 minutes it's all done in an instance now it seems.
While that's upsetting its how pwi has sort of becoming for the non-endgame people. It's also how they choose to play. People want to get to 100 in a few days, let them. If you're not zhenning fish or wolves / in rebirth til you pass out, then you're not really playing "old school" to level anymore. Bh doesn't qualify.

To me, someone who truly doesn't care is someone who reads the OP, thinks "tsss that's BS" and just go back to another thread. Why do you even give your opinion ? Jealousy, or nostalgy of the old time ? In either case you can't say you really don't care.
Thirdly: I'm not impressed either cause I know it's totally doable, and I'm not jealous either cause I know I could have been 100 by now if I had prepared rolling my mystic. I can't be jealous of someone who worked to pile up money for her future char when I haven't. She somehow deserved it if she prepared 3 months before for this. Point is, I can't FC non stop on mystic cause I have to switch to main sometimes to get some money for his skills and gears.
So yeah, all I wanted to say to OP is grats, enjoy your mystic, and don't listen to haters.0 -

how you have fun in a game all depends on YOURSELF. getting to 100 in 2 weeks is just skipping the boring parts of the game. what you do after that is all up to you. rather its talk to friends that u find fun, farm instances that u find fun, pvp that u find fun, killing/boss hunting that u find fun, etc etc. its all a matter of preference.
so ya, right now hypering to 100 is probaly your best option. before hypering FF was not possible so its understandable ppl in the olden times took that long to lvl up and frown upon ppl that power lvl today. but guess what? thats the old times. get with the new times.
hyper is the next cool thing on the street. and quite frankly, its much better to hyper all the way to 100 rather then waste so much time anyway and idk why ppl would even attempt it. hypers are like 90k each or less now.
what this fight REALLY comes down to is the fact that the "old school" generation never had hypers to lvl so fast and thus are hattin on the "new generation" that are leveling millions of times faster then the old school gen did.

my cleric was created 2 years ago and lvled her to 101 with no hypers ^.^ just aoe grinding at third map but yes i agree hypers ftw

yes i agree new players should do all quest they receive. when my friend starts playing this game (trying to get her to play it wit me after she finds some time) then imma make her do all the quests rather then have her give in to temptations of hypering cuz a new player has no idea on how the game even works. a new player wont even know what a FF/hyper/etc etc even is. god knows i didnt when i first started. so i agree wit that.

Honestly, I've been here for over 2 years, I've lvled a cleric and veno to 100+ the old school way, an archer to 80 (and then 93 with hypers), plus 3 other chars to about 60-70, doing ALL their quests. I just can't stand all those quests anymore and I don't see why I should go through this again.0 -

I have 5 characters, two of which are 100+; one was leveled the old school way, and the others were a mixture of quests and hyper fc. With all of my characters, I do at least some quests, namely the ones that weren't a pain in the ***, like that heavenwear fragment quest--did that once, never touched it again. I don't mind doing a little bit of questing between the hypering, but hypering isn't all I do. Gotta get coin for skills somehow (and I'm broke on all 5 characters, so no transferring coinage between each other).
I understand why some would just hyper their alts. And hopefully they do more than go into fc and learn their class. I've run into people who hypered their mains and not know the basics of the game. Like I had a friend tell me that he did an fc run with a veno who didn't have purge not even at level 1. And they were in their 70's. I saw someone else running around with level 7x gear at level 90 (this is actually pretty common). Or...the classic "what is IH?" cleric.

IMO, you shouldn't be allowed to hyper unless you have a main over 70. A REAL main....over 70. I define that as someone who went out, made a toon when they first played the game, and worked it up to 70, saw the new classes, and decided: "....the hell if I'm doing all THAT again!"
That's an excuse.
Jamming down oracles and hypers for no reason other than boredom and stroking your E-peen....is NOT the kind of thing you do to earn respect. Most of you doing that? Don't even understand the class.
Yesterday I squaded with a 87 Mystic. Together with a 101 Assassin, and my 85 Psy, we went through an FC run. The Mystic knew what the hell she was doing, (and because of Salvation, saved me quite a bit of healing) I didn't complain.
But there are those who are so gorged with hypers, that they don't even know what the hell they're doing. I predict this is going to happen mostly with Seekers, since this is a class that actually takes timing and paying attention, sort of like what happened to Psychics.
Point is, not impressed with your hyper'd character. Not even a little.0 -

The fact that the game has been developed in a way that allows this is the only real "tragedy" here.
You don't necessarily have to level your char the traditional way to play it well, an intelligent person can do a couple of days testing in the field and figure sh*t out...
Hypers are always gonna be a mixture of blessing and curse to me, on the one hand I leveled my wiz to 83 the "traditional" way (before the sin class was released, making me facepalm and reroll barb) and therefore feel the right to level my other chars a little easier, on the other hand, it kinda sticks in my craw seeing a level 100 toon less than 2 weeks after the release of new classes... (am i right here? its less than 2 weeks right?)

dont think many have against just hyper up, i dont, many of my friends did with seeker/mystics too. i do with alts too, not that i play em alot.. so boring..
