Auto-attack

Ok, so it just so happens Forsaken World, has launched it's OB just recently, and while FW came with some good points and some bad ones, I'd like only discuss on of them.
Over here in Pwi, we always had auto attack for Melee classes alike,
(Auto attack = the continuous melee attacks, initiated from the action menu, consuming no mana points).
And while all Caster classes also have the same action, it still only worked in the melee sense, which is useless for magic based caster.
Now over at FW, all classes have auto attacks that work simultaneously with their class route, melees have melee based auto attacks, and casters have magic based auto attacks.
That work exactly like melee does,
except supposedly based on channel instead of interval, magic atk instead of physical atk and has the bonus of range. Of course, consuming no mp what so ever.
What do you guys think, would this actually be a plus, if ever implemented here in Pwi?
I'd think it's only fair casters can have auto attacks as well.
Plus it would kinda stabilize the 5aps melees complains, or would be a step toward that imo.

Seems like FW really put some thought into this and managed to create a proper magic auto attack, I sure hope it will be implemented into PW at some point. Kudos to them ![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Actually the auto attack is just like in Battle of Immortals . . PW is the first game developed by PWE / wanmei tough so it's doesn't feel weird that caster doesn't have auto attack . .[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

err auto attack on here = a combo on repeat (for bosses anyway lol).... or jsut holding down F1 or w/e ...
As for FW it freakign blows....... i just love runnign around the port town all day doing the dailies mindlessly auto pathing and never leaving town cept maybe 2/30 times for that.... /sarcasm lol0 -
I'd think, if casters had auto attack, they would have an aps count too, like melee classes.
Though I have no clue what the possible -channel gear, can achieve.
But if that happens, melee classes will no longer be the solo glory holders of max aps, and end game farmers.
Edit: Of course, they'd have to implement a sort of channel atk rate on magic instruments, that applies to caster auto-attack.0 -
It also had to do with elementals. PW magic mostly always elemental based.
Because it's an auto attack, it may come without any elements.
Which mean no way for players to reduced it's damage, other than player vs player damage penalty or defense lv.
Tough every race has elements here . . maybe it's possible.
Fire - Wizard
Wood - Venomancer
Metal - Cleric
Water - Psychic
Earth - Mystic

Hmm, the elements is one point I've not considered.
But I suppose it actually can work in the sense you stated below, or any where similar to it.0 -
And make that part of the game more bored? Wanna go afk more often or it's that dificult to press f1+f2+f3+f1+f2+f3...?
Even then, macros aren't that dificult to build.[insert sig here]0 -

It's like saying.. Why take my car to work, while instead I can take a series of buses as transportation. Don't make sense in my book.
And no less, macros chain skills, which cost mp.
Auto attack basically only costs the repair bill of your weapon.0 -
This game should always have had auto attack for magics, especially for things like TT bosses, melee can just simply auto attack with no pot consumption, whilst magics have to deal with **** damage due to orange named lvl 150 bosses while using a lot of MP up, hence why magic classes suck in TT apart from veno's and possibly mystics in which I've yet to judge.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You're implying that physical classes don't have to deal with lvl 150 damage reduction, and that they don't incur costs from tanking.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

I didn't imply anything, you're just reading it wrong, my point is that MP users have it the hardiest in TT due to the amount of pots they gota go through, at least before 75 for when they can get the event pots, I've played a barb up to the 8x region anyway so i know what the repair bills are, I've also played an archer and BM up to 8x so I know how the damage works in an average level TT, just like I said, MP is a nuisance and it would be nice to have an auto attack.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Dunno how you play your melee chars, I always ran out of mp fast and also use pots with them. Not like it's a problem, event pots are too cheap. If you can't afford that then...
Also, even if there were a caster autoattack, at least I couldn't use it. Must heal, atack, check out for agro steal, heal, purify, debuff, atack, heal, maybe aoe heal...
Again, dunno if you can just play a, lets see, psychic or wizzy just with autoatack. And even if someone wants to play a cleric with just an autoheal... bad for him/her.
Also, off topic, no sense because your book it's a bit limited. It's more like someone taking you to your work on his car or having a chauffeur.[insert sig here]0 -
Instances below lvl 75 don't really matter, especially with how fast people level.
I've played a Sage cleric through just about every instance and boss in this game, including Harpy, and their mana cost isn't that huge. 30k in repairs is fair for a tank through some of the longer instances, while 50 mana food is more than enough for a cleric or a wiz in any given instance, especially if the instances are run by fast squads. The costs are not MUCH more. Gone are the days of mana charm ticking every time you buff, BB, and ****.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

Well, no one said it's a solution to all problems, I think it would be a nice add however. Also, off topic, no sense because your book it's a bit limited. It's more like someone taking you to your work on his car or having a chauffeur.0 -
Well I had a similar idea, but with a few tweaks.
Having free ranged attacks wouldn't be quite that fair towards archers since they have to use ammo for it. I was thinking of an mp cost that's just slightly below your normal MP regeneration, which would scale with your level ofcourse.
But here's the catch; You'd have to buy a special ammo item (which has unlimited uses but would cost quite a lot for the good ones) which could give +m.attk and special bonuses (like a crit arrow). The element and MP cost could be determined on which ammo item you use.
I see this more as something convenient rather than another gamebreaking feature (I mean, the damage wouldn't be that special). Having to nuke a mob for 10k+ when they have about 500 hp left kinda gets on your nerves sometimes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
In those situations, I use a lvl 1 DoT spell such as Crown of Flames, Pitfall, Thunderball (though Thunderball channels way too slowly for what it does)
They do your base damage as the initial nuke and costs very little mana at lvl 1. (I personally think they should modify Thunderball's chan/cast to the same as Crown of Flames)
If mana costs for some of the attack nukes and heals were just reduced it'd be all good. (such as AOE heal costing 1.2k mana) If you haven't noticed, Venomous Scarab costs 130 mana at lvl 11, while Plume Shot costs 265.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.
