data1.pck & data2.pck are broken

Hi,
i have downloaded the game 3 times in the last week by the "auto-download" program (2 times) and the last by torrent (utorrent)

In any case, when it's finish, I execute it and the program verify if some file is broken.. it doesn't finish that appears the error "data pack (data1.pck) broken. please re-download install files" (sometimes appears error with data2.pck)

i have disactivated the windows firewall, the antivirus, etc but the error persists

Try downloading the manual patch and do it that way. Disabling your security software doesn't really work. Try adding exceptions for the game folder into your software and see if that helps.

I don't have the game installed that's why I have to download the "full client".

at the moment, i don't have antivirus, the Windows firewall is OFF... any other ideas?

i'm trying download it again now

my connection is a Wi-fi 1MB, and the download speed is between 60 - 120kb/sec

If it is an archive, like a zip file, or a self-extracting archive (which would be an exe file), try using 7-zip to extract (uncompress) it first, and then running the setup from inside the uncompressed folder.

I had downloaded a .zip file with Utorrent. i had used Winrar to extract the files in a folder, but the winrar show me a error saying that data2.pck is damaged.

then, I had opened the install.exe, and verify... then..

so.. WTF? I had no problems with the data1.pck in the extracting.. =/

Hmm, check computer for malware? Since you don't have any anti-virus, maybe you caught something that infects the files and causes the data corruption?

mm maybe, but i don't think so, because i had format about a week ago, and the windows firewall had been running before the PWI's downloads (any ways, Windows Firewall is a **** b:laugh)

Hi all, I'm having same problem like AidennX - Archosaur, with data files, but I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. I tryed download torent 6 times and with auto-download 3times, I tryed to download when Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 was on and off but still same b:sad

I even tryed force check method with uTorrent program, but still same.
I readed all forum with same broblem, but I haven't founded an answer b:cry

Are you changing the install path to something other than what is preset? Please submit a ticket on this issue, and explain the solutions you have tried. Be sure to include the above question and answer in your ticket. Helping you out via the ticketing system will allow us to keep track what's going on.

Yes, I will write all what I have tryed, here:

*I tryed to do all this with my firewall and antivirus program on and off a few times*

1st I tryed to download torrent file of Perfect World Genesis rar from http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download , but when I try to extract it in I get errors: data1.pck broken and data2.pck broken.

2nd I tryed to download from http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download diract download, but when I launch downloaded Perfect World instal and I chose verify it says: "data pack (data1.pck) broken. please re-download install files". I tyed to skip verify, when instalation reaches 20% It still says: "data pack (data1.pck) broken. please re-download install files".

3rd I tryed GM advice:

Add the game folder and/or game file to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings. But this haven't solved my problem.

4th I tryed: To instal old 126 version of Perfect World and manual update, it says: update is a failure.

5th I tryed to search all Perfect World forum and read all theads with similar theme, tryed everything I founded, but still nothing.

6th I tryed 1 players suggested method to fix file downloaded with uTorrents program: "download Perfect World rar with uTorrents program: when download will be finished push right mouse button on Perfect World International Genesis ( PWI_Genesis_installer.rar ) file in uTorrents program list and chose stop then force check", but still same errors with data1 and data2 file

7th Now I'm trying auto update 126 version of Perfect World to new Perfect World Genesis, it will take a few days, but I think I will succeed this time

P.S. I don't know how to submit a ticket : (

im having the same problem as everyone else data1.pck is damaged and i have tried downloading the game twice and have the same problem i really really want to play this game is there any way to fix data1.pck by myself.

Hello...I have the same problems as the 2 ppl that posted before me..and i cant seem to get it installed data 1 pack and data 2 pack seem to be broken i tred uncompressing with 7 zip and usless...atm in downloading a 1.61 client from a private sever hoping that the updates will be automatic and all...i hope it wownt take forever cuz i have a pretty good bandwith ( over 10 mb/s in torrent and over 4 mb/s in direct download ) and than again...i am somewhat "forced" to ask of you PLEASE FIX THE torrent / direct download clients cause they are broken...i allso tryed downloading it from 3 diffrent desktops and 1 laptop ( wich all meet the requirements for gameplay ) but i get the same things over and over again...it's frustrating...and time consuming..i'm affraid that in the end...if i dont get it resolved i might need to say "awww...f$#& it...ima go play something else" WICH I DONT WANNAAAA !! pls just fix it...it's nervewracking...

Any files being corrupted or missing is usually because something on your computer or network has throttled or blocked part of the game. You might have to use the direct download instead of the torrent.

At your own risk, you may have to disable your antivirus, firewall, and other security software temporarily while you download, install, update, and login to the game.
Sometimes the security software will block it no matter what you try or even if you try to add exceptions for the game files in your security software.

You may also have to disable, shut down, uninstall, or disable any: torrent, keyboard/mouse, web browser toolbars, video/screen capture, gamepad/input device, multimedia, Instant Messaging, voice over IP, web browser games, other games software applications before downloading, installing, updating and logging into the game.

so let me get this right...it worked before NO PROBLEM...now it's busted...and you are saying that we all neet a fresh install of Windows to install the game...for such a big company you really dont't think over the solutions...and as i said earlyer i tryed direct download too with all the antivirusez / shields / windows stuff shutted down...and allso with the exceptions...and think it over love...once i download the torrent file...it;s in a .rar ...so IS INTACT if it can be unrared all the way....THE BROBLEM IS after unzpipping the installer and all that tha DATA PACKS are damaged not the rar that contains them....i mean c'mon...before answering read the data...and analize...i tryed on more compus and still same error....as i said few desktops and a laptop....laptop with fresh windows install ( as u recommended ) and still nothing...u should prolly contact someone to post a WORKING client on the "Download" section...here...YOU try uninstalling yout game deleting the downloader and all...that get the ones currently avalable...and try all your solutions...than tell me what will u do...cuz they dont work....dont mean no disprespect...but i worked at an IT company and i beleave i tryed all that is possible to try ...( and allso the game supports my region / country )...any data u migt need....i can provide you...just ask
