1.Can mystic solo instances?
2.At what level can they solo and which summon?
3.Are they able to solo like a veno?
4.What gear to use?

    mystic isn't a veno and his 'pets' are too weak for cave bosses
    also, pet heal skill is much more MP requires (MP charms have to be used)

    mystics first summon - demon - is a weaker (HP and defs) than GW, but hits more frequenly and with more damage than scorpion
    so he is a DD pet, not tank

    other two summons have even less HP and defs

    I thought Salvation is tanking pet :O

    If Mystic is able to solo instances, then definietely not as well as Veno, because of MP cost. Without MP charm it would be impossible, I think.

    Salvation isn't tanking pet - its support summon for owner and team members (absorb damage mostly)
    almost useless as battle pet

    The Chihyu isn't too weak for instance bosses, afaik, and it gets better with better gear.

    The MP cost is horrendous, however. A maxed pet heal will cost 275 MP, if I remember, which is much harder to keep up than a veno's pet heal. Even at lower levels of it, the pet heal will run you out of mana very quickly. I honestly don't think it would be possible uncharmed below 75, but it might be possible with the level 75 mp food.

    I'm a pure mag mystic, and I've partied with a few venos, having to heal their pets for bosses. I run out of mana extremely quick, even while spamming pots. If you're muchhhh higher level than the boss, I could see it being doable, as the pet wouldn't need to be spamhealed, but venos will always be better than mystics at soloing.

    As for gear, use the same gear as clerics or arcane venos would.

    The summon's HP/defenses coupled with the mystic's MP drain is usually only sufficient enough to take down most overworld bosses, at least in the lower levels, since that's all that I can talk from experience.

    I witnessed a lvl 36 mystic on sanctuary solo krixxix...dont suppose thats technically a "cave" boss but it seemed impressive to me at the time....

    the dark adalwolf lord? your lying. i couldnt even solo that with my pet at lvl 40. she must have been alot higher lvl then 36. krix 2 shoted my pet when i tried to tank it. couldnt even heal it fast enough.

    mystic pets have the potential to be good tanks at HIGHER lvls, but i HIGHLY doubt u will be able to tank anything in the lower lvls. infact i KNOW u cant cuz ive tried.

    they can tank oracle bosses tho with ease of course.

    That's why you tank Krixxix yourself. With cleric buffs and verdant, he should barely hurt you.

    As long as your pet can survive the hit and you can recover more than half it's hp, it should be able to tank with your heals assuming mp is not a problem.

    I duoed Krixxix with my gf (another mystic) at the level we got the quest. And while it was definitely taxing on both our MP pools, it was definitely possible.

    Myst shouldn't have problems soloing/tanking krixx, or any other ranged-mode boss with water or wood magic atacks - due to their def buff. Get some cleric buss and krixx magic would do as much as tickle you. Use your summon for DD while you heal yourself and do some damage when able to. When summon finally steals aggro and dies just resummon and repeat till big bad wolf is no more.

    NOTICE: the major difference between mystic and veno in this case - veno's pet is doing the tanking for her, while mystic is tanking for her summon herself! Don't compare those two, they're just to different.

    If she can at 39 with only selfbuffs, I'm sure someone can at 36 too. Just get some buffs and think over your strategy. b:chuckle Better to tank it yourself then having your pet tank it.

    you probably dont need cleric buff to tank it yourself (not pet tanking), because of the mystics self buff adds more water defense.

    i did solo this boss also, in my 30s.

    the deference is veno has a long chaneling time at 30ish where a mystic does not mystic and heal 4 or 5 times in the same time it takes a veno to heal 1

    But mystics can't keep heals up as easily as a veno can, because of the crazy high mana costs, and the fact that we don't have a way to instant-regen a ton of mana, without using charms. Venos will always be better than us at soloing with pets for that reason.

    On a side note, whoever said that mystics can tank magic bosses was totally right. Soloed Suzerix on my mystic today without a pet. b:cute I was actually quite surprised. Took a lot of mana pots though. b:sad

    Edit: Not to mention, luring is a hell of a mana drain, and is necessary for soloing instances, or even getting adds off a boss before you aggro him. Each summon of my Chihyu right now is nearly 600 mana--add in healing every time I summon him, and the mp transfer...it's a lot. I actually loathe luring on my mystic just for that reason, but it still makes soloing/partying easier.

    all i was point out is the fact that krixx would not be a problem for a mystic to tank at that level and i know all aboot mana i soloed fb 19 untamed last night easly i might add but at the cost of over 100k on my charm

    I soloed Firecrag Grotto (which is considered lvl 19 I think) when I was lvl 24 or 25 with my mystic, but I don't know if that's actually an accomplishment or not. (LOL I'm a newb so I'm easy to please XD) I had a spirit charm and guardian charm though, and I basically just healed myself and my summon (Chihyu at this point) while he fought. I died a couple times on the boss though, but since mystics have that resurrection skill I didn't have to redo the whole thing. It was tough but doable.
