Note to mods: I'm not posting this in suggestions as NO ONE ever reads there, you can't deny that either b:chuckle
How about this for a coin sink. A lottery. Its the ultimate money sink in the real world so why not in game?
Entry fee: 100k (or w/e you want it to be, I chose 100k)
Reward: 50% of ALL collected funds or a similar reward scheme for people that get numbers close but total reward DOES NOT exceed 50% of collected funds
I'd play that weekly if it was done like that simply because it can be fun doing a small gamble like that as to most people 100k is litterally nothing... And it would cause quite a bit of coins to be sunk from the game no?
Anyway what is the rest of the community's thoughts on this?

There was a suggestion like this a long time ago.
It was never implemented and, I believe, seen by the dev's.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You can't deny it is a brilliant idea no? Nearly everyone on the server would play and coins vanish from circulation while still being fun. Why can't the devs see this? Instead of giving **** coin sinks like that one quest that costs a few million just to complete...0 -
This has been suggested several times already.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I think there is like a law against lotterys and gambling in games. Thats why games sell boxes and packs and such. Not considered gambling if you get something everytime."Jesus fricking christ on a pogo stick. Your a mass of fricking idiots I swear!"

You aren't 'losing' anything as in you aren't losing anything physical, with packs you can lose something physical, money. This you can not lose anything physical as coins are virtual. And in the US there is no such law, in China gambling is illegal.0 -

It's not really a coin sink, since some people are going to "win" the money, though
While it's a sink for some, it's not a sink for all, and some isn't something the devs do
Example of the coin sinks we have now:
Guild base gear. You lose 10b+ (Or whatever, I don't have a guild base to know) coins for a piece of gear. You get no coins in return, nor does anyone else get the coins. Coin sink for all.
Example of Lotto:
100 people put in 100k coins each. 5 of them are close to the winning number, 8254. They get 2mil each from the lotto. 95 people put in 100k for the coin sink, 5 people get 2mil from their coin sink.
Would be considered a coin sink in my eyes if it was implemented and, like you suggested, the winners were only given 50% of the profits, and then 1mil would go to them and the rest would go to coin sink[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thats why I said reward CAN NOT exceed 50% of ALL collected funds, that is in total for all people so it is a coin sink for all
50% of the coins are eaten by the server, 50% of the coins got to some players0 -

...Hi, my name is Server *noms 50% coin sink every week*
I'd certainly do this if it was implimented, a lil gamble every week[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
