Why is token price drop from 17k to 12k in DW after the patch?

Is there some sales that generate token?

Thanks

Maybe there's so many people playing earthguard rather than their mains that there's lower demand?

I noticed a lot more people were opening packs after the expansion on Harshlands. (via the system announcements announcing what they had won) I think the big pack buyers were probably saving up their money and not buying packs because they expected a pack sale with the expansion. Then when they found that there wasn't one, they went ahead and used the money they had saved up. This is the only explanation I have come up with because I also have not found any pack sales and the like in the cash shop.

That plus more people are playing PW or are more active. That results in more people charging zen and increase supply for gold. Higher supply leads to lower price. Idk if you noticed (I did and f*** me for investing in 650k gold), but gold price dropped a lot. it's down to 550 on HL and I can imagine it dropped on other servers too. Lower gold price means cheaper packs and means more people are buying packs. Then more packs brings more tokens and so price does down as supply increase just like gold. In the end, it's all due to the grand law of supply/demand.

With no other major sales, and with packs still at 45 gold for 50 packs, gold has naturally gone down to a point where people are willing to spend it on packs. You can certainly tell by people opening packs and winnings getting announced more often in WC. Thus tokens are becoming more available again.

Kind of a big shut the **** up to those that wanted steeper pack sales because of token price QQ eh? LMAO

Yeah, I blogged about this yesterday when giving my first-glance impressions at where the Genesis economy seems to be heading.

People had already started opening Packs when Gold was getting down to ~700k before the sale ended, so predicting a drop in Token prices was pretty much a sure-thing. The only thing that could have prevented it would have been some other uber-sale that spiked Gold prices and didn't involve Token packs.

My theory is that duke is announcing the rare opens again. Obviously, token prices are directly affected by the number of packs being opened; I think people seeing awesome items announced encourages them to open more packs.
